Is norsca worth it?

I want to buy them but I heard they were in need of a rework and looking at the roadmap it doesn't seem to be comming soon.

They do need an update and they should get it at some point.

They are tough to play but personally one of my faves.

Unless your dying to play them, hold off until there is word of said update.

They are very boring, with a very basic roster, their Mostruous Arcanum mechanics are bugged, they only have 2 LLs (one of which is VERY suboptimal in playstyle), and they end up using around 5 units out of their entire roster, constantly, because those are the only good ones.

Norsca needs a HEAVY update.

Have not played in a long time, but I enjoyed Skin Wolves, Chariots, Manticores, with a few Berserkers and horse throwing axemen w/ shield. Abused the dark elves

Actually a pretty diverse army as far as what I make, usually I recruit big 3 unit types

It's easy to say wait till the update - but who knows how that update will take? It almost certainly won't be within this year, and it's not guaranteed to be the next year either.

They are fun but lack some of the bells and whistles of the game 3 factions and to a lesser extent game 2 dlc factions/lords. Just finished a throgg long victory and it was my first long victory in immortal empires so far, it just got me to 1000 hours (though wayy too many of those hours were spent alt tabbed out of the game with my PC idling)

I would recommend playing grom first, but if you played him already and you want a chaos faction aligned faction that plays similar to the greenskins thats basically norsca. Biggest campaign difference being no WAAAGH but more money from building/upkeep reduction raiding stance (20-30%). Arachnaroks are like tankier mammoths with less charge, both have giants, different types of trolls some of which get super strong lord buffs, meh infantry but cheap and cost effective so you can bring multiple armies if you balance enough monsters and spellcasters/melee heroes in to give you some more staying power. Fimir are kind of meh but skin wolves are super unique, upgraded bull centaurs from chaos dwarfs are their closest analogue though skin wolves do less damage than them. also similar to greenskins they make a lot from sacking settlements.

Personally I would say buy game 3 first, then champions of chaos, then game 2/game 2 lord packs, then game 2 race packs, then game 1, then game 1 race packs in order of best to least value. Ive always been a throgg fan though so it felt good to finally finish norsca probably for good now.

Hard to recommend. they are "fine" as a faction, but you have only 2 lords, and one of them is quite bad. and they have like 2 mechanics, and one of them is bugged right now and doesn't really work. I love norsca, but I can't reccommend them now

Playing a Throgg campaign atm, quite fun, but indeed no real special mechanics, just stack big ugly monsters ^^

Well just did a monster hunt and it worked fine...
Allegiance seems to work as well, what else could be broken ?

yeah you can get one or two done but for 99% of ppl it will eventually hit a quest point that it wont let you complete,fingers crossed that your lucky :)

Norsca sucks they are one of the few factions left in need of a overhaul and an overhaul doesn't seem planned for the year. They are just discount Warriors Of Chaos and worse at it.
