Thanx for the feedback. This is ofcourse way down the line in the future. We still haven't gotten the likes of Nefarata, Thanquol, Nagash, and many others. But I dont think Total War Warhammer should end in this state in relation to content and narratives. Theres still so much more to explore.
I would say more mechanics would bring people in but they have to be good! and Warhammer esque, which is its own problem as people didnt like the campaigns in 1 and the Gates in 3
Much of community didnt like price increase and I am afraid thats what is needed to make RACE packs financially viable...
Pricepoint was set on $25, which upset a lot of people...
But lets face it its cheaper in many countries (I paid $18) and most people got it with a discount on preorder/first week.
So lets assume $20 per unit.
Steam grabs 30%, and taxation next 10%.
We are left with roughly $12 of profit per unit.
Now the hard part. Number of DLC units sold.
Max playerbase was 73k players at Chorfs realease. Although there are also Epic and MS versions i think that they are quite low compared to Steam. But lets be generous and say that Steam sold 100k units, and remaining storefronts 50k combined. I really doubt the numbers to be bigger.
So: 150k x $12 gives us whooping 1,8 milion $.
To quote a classic: "Houston, we have a problem".
Animators, graphisc, sound guys, consultants, marketing... We arent talking about horse armor here (which probably brought more total revenue).
We will not see any other Race packs at this pace.
Diablo IV did $666 in five days. And it has or will have (I dont play it) microtransactions.
I would like then to do mini campaigns based on historic events like the war of the beard, the first chaos invasion, the vampire wars, the war of ice and sand
Thats actually a very good idea, mini-campaigns based on historic events.
The SR will essentially become what Bretonnia was at release for WH1, I think.
Araby will probably never come, and neither will the Amazons, which is a shame, both factions have cool lore and would add diversity of both gameplay and ethnicity to the game.
Oddly enough, Kuresh and Ind might actually have a decent shot of making it in, GW has been dropping hints about them potentially coming to Old World for a couple years now, and CA has also included multiple references to both in the game’s files.
No mention of Nippon though, sadly.
