The Southern Realms, Araby, and the South East
Hey CA. First thank you for the wonderful Warhammer series and for continuing to work on this great franchise. Looking forward to more updates and content.

Now, interested in generating more revenue, bringing in more customers from around the world, exploring Warhammer lore further, and completing the Warhammer Fantasy factions in one fantastic masterstroke?

How about making a new campaign map combining the Southern and South Eastern portion of the map with a new narrative focused on the last remaining main factions - The Southern Realms, Dogs of War, Araby, Ind, Khuresh, and Nippon.

It would start from Estalia in the West with parts of the Sourhern Empire, Tilea and the Border Princes to Araby in the Center with mainly the Northern portion of the deserts of the Southlands to Nippon in the Far East with parts of Southern Cathay. You could add the other Cathayan Dragons and the Monkey King. The deserts would ofcourse be enlarged for Araby. Estalia, Tilea and the BPs would finally get their unique units, lords, and themes.

The narrative could feature a conflict between Araby and the Southern Realms for example, whereas in the East the tensions between the Monkey king and the surrounding lands.

Then of course incorporate the new factions and areas into a glorious Immortal Empires final map.

What do you guys think? Wishful thinking?

Sounds fantastic, but they seem devoted to Chaos at this point so I think it probably is wishful thinking :(

Thanx for the feedback. This is ofcourse way down the line in the future. We still haven't gotten the likes of Nefarata, Thanquol, Nagash, and many others. But I dont think Total War Warhammer should end in this state in relation to content and narratives. Theres still so much more to explore.

These are niche factions I dont think they will bring in new players after years and years and years of the trilogy at this point, if the classic factions have not done so already.
I would say more mechanics would bring people in but they have to be good! and Warhammer esque, which is its own problem as people didnt like the campaigns in 1 and the Gates in 3

There is a bit of a problem with Chorfs DLC.

Much of community didnt like price increase and I am afraid thats what is needed to make RACE packs financially viable...

Pricepoint was set on $25, which upset a lot of people...

But lets face it its cheaper in many countries (I paid $18) and most people got it with a discount on preorder/first week.

So lets assume $20 per unit.

Steam grabs 30%, and taxation next 10%.

We are left with roughly $12 of profit per unit.

Now the hard part. Number of DLC units sold.

Max playerbase was 73k players at Chorfs realease. Although there are also Epic and MS versions i think that they are quite low compared to Steam. But lets be generous and say that Steam sold 100k units, and remaining storefronts 50k combined. I really doubt the numbers to be bigger.

So: 150k x $12 gives us whooping 1,8 milion $.

To quote a classic: "Houston, we have a problem".

Animators, graphisc, sound guys, consultants, marketing... We arent talking about horse armor here (which probably brought more total revenue).

We will not see any other Race packs at this pace.

Diablo IV did $666 in five days. And it has or will have (I dont play it) microtransactions.

Extreme wishful thinking, you will get another Lizard LL in Khuresh fighting another Beastman LL, and Dechalla fighting a HE LL in Ind, and you will be happy.

so you want a warhammer 4...

As much as it would be nice to see some of that fleshed out for ind, khuresh, nippin, there is so much lore they could go on for the races in the game.
I would like then to do mini campaigns based on historic events like the war of the beard, the first chaos invasion, the vampire wars, the war of ice and sand

Honestly think very wishful thinking but…be pretty cool if did happen imho. Not a bad idea at all.

Thats actually a very good idea, mini-campaigns based on historic events.

I don’t think we’ll ever get a fully fleshed out Southern realms, at most we’ll probably get Dogs of War, and the Southern realm factions will each get access to a limited portion of their faction roster. :theDoge:

The SR will essentially become what Bretonnia was at release for WH1, I think. :doge:

Araby will probably never come, and neither will the Amazons, which is a shame, both factions have cool lore and would add diversity of both gameplay and ethnicity to the game. :winter2019saddog:

Oddly enough, Kuresh and Ind might actually have a decent shot of making it in, GW has been dropping hints about them potentially coming to Old World for a couple years now, and CA has also included multiple references to both in the game’s files. :donpug:

No mention of Nippon though, sadly. :winter2019sadyul:

Wishful thinking but there's nothing wrong with that.
