Battle, raiding, sacking and razing is what big red is all about don't even bother touching the diplomacy button
He doesn't play like the other factions, his "economy" is all built around destruction and gets boosts from it. Hes a wrecking ball, run a negative economy and maintain as many blood hosts as you can.
In fact, only bother to occupy one region / settlement in a province, usually the capital if its feasible, sack and raze the rest to the ground. They will automatically occupy by your faction later.
I'm not one of those that complain about Nurgle, if anything, they are polar opposite play styles and both change the game up. Kugath you find yourself moving very slowly to start with but become unstoppable later, while with Skarbrand you are smashing stuff and expanding straight out of the gate.
People complain about both because they haven't understood or don't like the play styles. I think both are good personally. Glad that factions are not completely copy pasted.
Occupy every province capitol, raze all minor settlements (after sacking them first obviously). Minor settlements recolonize for free and the the small income numbers add up nicely over time. Repeat this and you will have tons of money in no time.
People really go all the way in on the killing aspect but I did a VH Khorne IE game and it was easy enough to dominate all of the Araby and Jungle south (even though those are mid hospitable). I had income of 20k and was fielding multiple armies.
Also, I never made use of any Hosts. When I saw that this s**t costs upkeep I just never touched it and later on I forgot that it even is an option.
Well the blood hosts boost your growth significantly, so if you want the top tier units ASAP it helps to get this going. I remember growth being painfully slow without the blood hosts unless that's been changed since i last played.
While I understand your "rant" is about how people are unhappy about Nurgle while Khorne's economy buildings are in a similar situation (which they aren't since Khorne don't really care about "building an economy") and NOT about how Khorne's economy is bad, you phrased it (specially the title) in an easily confusing thread.
And tbh, it's getting really tedious how people complain all the time about any little things which don't fit their taste / vision... #Spite
If that is not enough try to buy in a strong vassal, I just got me a slayer king.
FWIW, I like both Skarbrand and Kugath.
