when can we get basic chat for multiplayer?
I cant coordinate with randos at all bc of it only some maps let u draw on them too and that isnt best way to communicate

They used to have a chat, they removed it since they didn't have a system to supervise it and that is apparently needed now days. Considering that any sort of effective supervision likely entails employees and costs money, i'd say likely never.

Never, because the community that plays in battle, and MP campaigns with randos has proven that they can't be trusted to play nice. Isn't really a Free-Speech issue, as Free Speech isn't applicable to privately owned corporations, and their platforms. It's why prior to Elongated Musketfish owning it, Twitter would ban neo-nazis from the platform, as an example.

So they don't, because they're well aware that toxic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are gonna be toxic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nip the problem in the bud before it becomes a problem.

Another one of these threads I see. Copied from my past posts on the subject as to why CA haven't added in chat for 3 and also why they removed it from 1 & 2.

"The CHAT systems in Total War have remained largely unchanged for years and (by today’s standards) are no longer suitable for a modern online world. The shortcomings are many: they lack the front-end tools to report harassment or abuse, the back-end systems to monitor and moderate a 24/7 chat service, and the structure to provide a safe space in which players can communicate. These are all essential facets to a chat system, and we feel strongly that they are aspects we MUST provide by supporting in-game chat: both to empower players to create their own safe spaces, and to remove those players who would utilize the space as a vector for abuse."

And OP you keep asking this every few months why? Don't be so naive to think they will bring it back if ever.

This. if the launch of warhammer 3 has taught me anything - its that this community is pretty pathetic and just filled with absolute losers with total war being their only outlet in life. I dont want to those people spamming a bunch of vile ♥♥♥♥ while i just try to relax and play a few battles after work.

If only there was a way to program the chat to be able to filter out those users. Like a button near peoples names that you can toggle the filter on.

so i filter out basically every user and then there is no chat? seems like im getting the same result no matter what - just yours has me doing extra steps every time i enter a game.

People who idolize white supremacists, are white supremacists, and generally go out of their way to "Other" extreme minorities in an attempt to eradicate them. The GOP of the USA congress comes to mind, with the policies they're pushing.

EDIT: What's a Neo-Nazi to you, and why are you concerned about it?
