Is HE Archmage of Heaven moon dragon better than the Fire mage's sun dragon?
Or are they about equal? I didn't even notice the others got dragons until just now.

The stats window should tell you, just compared them.

Also depends on their combat animations. Some fight different I remember right.

Yeah I know but I thought the dragon flame abilities were different, just can't remember how. And sometimes things seem good on paper but perform less well.

I cant remember off top of my head either.

Being different types of magic dragons, they should have different spells.

The stats for the dragon mounts are based on the riderless variants. Sun dragons are the fastest, but otherwise have the lowest stats. Star Dragons are relatively slow but very bulky and Moon Dragons are the middle of the road option.

For fire magic access you typically want to go with the hero mage, because they are the only one that gets a dragon mount. Life magic is generally the best option for Archmage Lords, because healing is amazing for single entities.

Moon Dragon has quiet a bit more health plus some extra damage. Sun Dragon gets a bit more charge bonus and speed.

Moon Dragons breath is also more powerful.

Moon dragon breath is more suited for use against single entities. Sun dragon is against normal units.

So sun dragon is probably more useful early on I'mguessing. Like it's not armor piercing right?

Sun Dragon breath is for killing blobs of infantry, and its charge speed makes it useful for repeated cycle-charging.

Star Dragon is your anti-large dragon, its breath is focused to hurt big single entities and it has the best combat stats for prolonged fighting.
But do not send it against actual anti-large specialists, its still a flying monster meaning flying is its biggest advantage and it pays for it in weaker stats.

Sun Dragon has the highest charge bonus and lowest sustained melee stats. It's a cycle charge unit.

Star dragon has the lowest (but still quite good) charge bonus and highest sustained combat stats. It's the best able to stay and brawl... but it's still got good mobility and that should be taken advantage of.

And Moon is in the middle.
