Depends what you mean by soon I guess. I wouldn't hold my breath.
ALan that was piece of nice reading thanks!
Oh agreed and it would blow the old Battle for Middlearth games out of the water.
but its also another licence and a big one. IF they've already paid out for 40K and Starwars I can't see them having the licence cash for Lord of the Rings nor the time.
That said all 3 are utterly awesome series to work with
Star trek would be more fun imho. Borg invasion endgame. Q messing with player. Kicking Federation butt with the Romulans... Take my cash!
An easy way to keep lore-friendly if they included space battles would be to simply have jump-lanes that ships move through. So they are never in deep space but always over or around a habitable area. You can then have a space fight outside of that or go into land fights.
That said I would suspect we end up with a "key world everyone is fighting over" situation rather than having space and multiple land battles ;but who knows. TW Warhammer showed that they are more than happy to create a LOT of land varieties even into full chaos worlds; so we could get whole different planets.
plenty of us wanna star wars total war mate your just an entitled baby like half the total war neckbeards
Maybe the best outcome would be for 40K to be a normal TW sandbox game with a million factions and massive land battles, and SW to be a saga title with less factions, but bring back naval battles using fan-favorite capital ships that would get people excited. Then you'd have a reason to buy both and both CA and consumers wouldn't burn out on cost and similar gameplay.
It is one of gaming series that still represents soul of true games. Last time i played Rise of Samurai addon for Shogun 2 and have tons of fun.
I wish Total War series many succesful years of presence at our machines and hearts.
