I guess i just dislike that the entire faction is easy mode..
The same mechanics apply, i can't imagine him being hard pressed.
No lord is difficult after a successful early game (t1-30~50).
You should try Malakai at least once. Super aggresive campaign. You get attacked by multiple factions no matter what.
And then you should try the full Gyro army, with Malakai and 2 Engineers, all with Prospector mails that give them stalk
Vs Norsca it's not even battles, you kill them all with no losses
Aggressive is the word. It's mainly from where I have seen the mechanics from, a buddy that I play coop with have played with him. A decent start and then snowballing without problems. And thats kinda the thing, getting attacked & losing worthless settlements is good, that gets you grudges that gets you more money to invest, rinse & repeat. It also adds to easy confederations. Couple that with strong early units if you do the adventures.
If you play your cards right you have more money than you know what to do with already around turn 60 with several armies that is basically untouchable, ranged damage boost to extremes (his malakai had ranged damage to like 4-5k if I remember correcly, at turn 50, shotty thingy though, still).
Sidenote;
Have you tried using the dwarf-crisis with diplomatic possibility on? Im in agreement what you are saying, but there is always the possibility of full cheese-mode to make it even easier through the new confederations so you have several high-tier stacks completly for free^^ (have not tried it personally, just know the jist of it)
but it says more about how the crisis-system is so simple it can be broken in so many ways, from this to belegar's dilemma to greenskins leader-killing confederation & so on
If you're suggesting they're too easy, then make their economy even worse and decrease the income and growth rate.
But... Aren't all factions very easy to play? Maybe you're just too good with Dawi. (IIRC you can go afk in the battlefield, which is... An... Unique feature, for sure.)
