faction friendlyness to each other imbalanced
i've started 8 campaigns in the last 2 weeks since i've gotten the game and every campaign chaos factions. ally each other instantly, then sweep south destroying all the other factions of the last 2 games.

its not even total war, its more like 2/3rds of the map which is chaos vs rabble easily swept away. there's no mid point for them to start a huge war between chaos and non chaos.

it would be fine even with bad ratio, but the chaos side also has the upside of almost no enemies amongst itself north and easily teaming up with nothing stopping them, while non-chaos has to fight both chaos and non-chaos factions.

the chaos factions at worst will not care about each other dying while non-chaos will immediately try to kill each other if their borders look sideways at each other.

i'm not asking for free for all, but when i have 7 chaos armies marching south on turn 25 thats too much.[its not even endgame events]

That is not my impression at all.

From my own experiences: Order factions tend to ally, Destruction factions (chaos included) tends to not ally as much.

That said, the AI will often ally against a common enemy they both hate (so if two factions are at war with you its much more likely that they will end up liking each other and allying), the AI also focuses on a player over other enemies even when not "allied". That is intended behavior (without it the game is easy peasy and boring).

Possible you include norsca in your idea that everything is set against you ?.. Chaos auto vassalize those when they take their settlements..

unite the Order factions with Military Alliances then declare war on the chaos factions and drag all your allies in... I did that with Skrag lmao, ogres are good boys!

I think Chaos is often called archenemy, especially in Warhammer 40k. But I agree that some races just have no friends to ally with on the map.

This is also my experience, almost every single campaign.

Adding on to this, things like taking losses (losing settlements, losing armies) or do stuff to trigger bad diplomacy (break treaties, trespass, etc.), will make you more appetizing to the AI

Sell settlements and you can make anyone your friend. I had an Oxyotl campaign where Zhatan was my bestest friend.

I don't see chaos winning anything it's mostly a standstill until player wrecking ball comes through
