"Required character is in an ineligible stance"
EDIT: In order to teleport to the quest, the required character must not be garrisoned AND the army they are in must have no stance selected. Set stance to the dash or minus icon.

Currently playing Immortal Empires as Tzeentch. Got the quest for the Staff of Tomorrow and teleported there. It was early in the game so my army was not good enough so I had to bail (the quest always shows up real early).

The quest is still active, my army is good, but the teleport button is greyed out and says "The required character is in an ineligible stance." What does that mean?

I have tried garrisoning Kairos in my capital, I have had him outside the capital.

I have had the army try each stance in succession, no change to the button.

The army with Kairos also has an Iridescent
Horror and a cultist. Does that have anything to do with it?

It generally means the normal initial stance, not forced marsh, plunder stance, without having used up your movement.

That's correct, except the movement part : for a quest battle, you don't need movement.
Just normal stance (and not in a settlement).
That's basically your answer OP, nonetheless.

Your army configuration has nothing to do with it.

If it's still not working, might be mods related. Who knows.

I have also experienced this notice even when in normal movement stance. Not sure what causes it. Might have to start the turn in normal stance? It always seems to clear up though.

I had, that if I have used up more then 10% of the movement I couldn't teleport to the quest battle anymore, may have changed since then. That was the reason I added it.

I should have also clarified, no mods. I'll try some of these and see if it clears up.

You could be right actually, I don't remember having an issue with movement requirements, but could have changed (or I'm just plain wrong, which is also a possibility)

Be in normal stance , non garrisioned ( or similiar ) , and have full movement capability.

I am able to teleport to quest battles without having any movement left.

I found the issue! You can only teleport to the quest when not garrisoned AND have no stance selected.

Thx for confirming this fact.

Yes, that's what we implied in our answers.
