More realistically any ranged AP damage like guns
But let me simplify it and make it as broad as possible.
Chosen have 120 armor so you want AP.
Chosen have a very slow speed of 28.
Greatweapons have no shield, so vulnerable to archers.
Add these 3 things up gives them a hard counter in ranged AP unit's.
Also, fyi, Nurgle chosen with greatweapons are the strongest all round infantry unit ingame in a melee, even beating exalted bloodletters.
Ofcourse, if you're going to take them in melee, be sure to use buffs and debuffs.
You didnt tell us what you are playing as. Dwarfs? Empire?
then do a shooting retreat
if you absolutely need to do it in melee
flanking and charge bonus, and then get out once the bonus runs out so you can repeat
their dump stat is speed, use it
Basicaly everything that makes normal infantry basicaly useless work wonders on chosen.
Nurgle chosen with great weapons are the strongest melee infantry in the game also one of the slowest. they can’t catch anything, you should not fight them in melee unless you really have to.
Thunderers, handgunners, artillery.
Outriders can run cicrles around them.
Generally weakness of all warriors of chaos and deamon factions is ranged fire power.
Well ranged armies are the optimal option in most scenarios as you do dmg while taking none, but that is another story.
If you have to tie them up in melee, use a durable single entity like a lord/hero with good resistances and melee defence, rather than a unit of infantry.
If you have any spells/abilities that summon units, use the expendable summoned units to keep them busy.
Out of all the chosen, the "Chosen of Nurgle with Great Weapons" are the top dogs (they easily beat every other Chosen type in a 1 vs 1 thanks to their weapon type focusing on armor piercing, so they are basically "anti chosen" chosen).
The fact that Tamurkhan boosts them adds to this (he boosts Nurgle mortal units).
When it comes to fighting them with other armies i would recommend anything ranged and armor piercing if you have the option.
They are kinda slow (slowest of the chosen) so can be kited (especially if you add some other effect that slow them further).
