What seems to be the issue?

You spend some time reading many of the numerous guides on Steam and watch many of the countless hours of videos on how to play TWW3 on YouTube.
You know, get gud.

That sounds boring as hell, why do people play this?

This game is not easy to pick up and play, especially if you have never played TTW before. Also depends on what faction you want to play, but if you feel like you are completely lost, play drawfs till learn how it works.
This game is about formations, counters, line of sight and manoeuvers. But to be more specific, you should provide info on who you want to play.

Well first thing's first, what are you doing in battle that doesn't seem to be working?

Are you throwing your whole army at the enemy and forming a giant blob? Are you sending Cavalry into Halberds? Are you putting guns directly behind your front line? We need details in order to give accurate advice. Otherwise all we can give is generic tips like "don't do the above things I mentioned."

You need a few hundred hours to understand what you are actually doing. It's worth it if you are open minded and curious.

Lol I only see one person here being a whiny ♥♥♥♥♥. Dude asks a question, gets an answer, doesn't like the answer so he starts saying stupid ♥♥♥♥. God help ya because nobody here will be able to

Well one question. What difficulty are you on? Auto resolve lies hard on both easy and normal battle difficulty, tripling your army on easy for autoresolve. Don't expect to perform better than autoresolve on either difficulty. Tends to crush the spirits of newer players, a bad system imo.

Learn to use magic effectively. Then learn which units are the highest priority to target with extreme prejudice (usually: Artillery > Missile infantry > Everything else).

Guard your flanks from enemy cavalry.

Play on slow-motion at first if you need to. Pause to issue commands or read ability/spell descriptions, then unpause.

Learn which skills are best to take on your lords/heroes. Some stats are more useful than others. If you put skill points in stuff like improving public order, then that character will be weaker in battle than it otherwise could've been.

How to Win Battles

Formation:

Line up melee units in front.
Place missile units behind them.
Position cavalry and fast units on the sides.
Group units by selecting all and pressing G (preserves formation).

General Rules:

Melee: Strong in melee, slow, durable.
Missile: Ranged, weak in melee, fast, vulnerable to cavalry.
Cavalry: Very fast, strong charge, weak in prolonged combat.

Combat Strategy:

Missile Superiority:
If you have more missile units: Approach to maximum missile range, let the enemy
come to you.
If the enemy has more: Charge with melee units quickly, use missiles for support.

Melee Tactics: Overwhelm enemy melee with numbers and damage. Support with
missile and cavalry.

Missile Tactics: Keep shooting (can flank and shoot from behind), protect from cavalry.

Cavalry Tactics: Flank the enemy, charge from behind, retreat, repeat. Target missile units and fleeing enemies.

Have you tried just playing the game and analyzing your performance with each battle?

Use the pause button.

If you really want help include such things as which faction your playing as, what you have in your army etc. Many people are happy to help if you actually want it. I just learned through trial and error which I think is the most fun way to learn the game.
