Total War: Lord of the Rings?

I love the Warhammer universe, but I would kill to have the next Total War entry set in the Lord of the Rings setting. Recreating the massive battles of Middle-Earth in this fantastic franchise would be divine. So much potential.

We already have Third Age for Medieval 2 and a bunch of submods for it. An actual LOTR Total War game would never work, for a myriad of reasons, not least of all being that CA would make a mockery of it with how incompetent they are. They can't even handle Warhammer Fantasy, let alone a world as vast and complex as Tolkien's Middle Earth.

Then Star Wars or Med 3
then Warhammer Fantasy Remastered
then Rome 3
then CA goes bankrupt trying to bring Hyenas 2 back to life

Total War: Disney Princess's. They got a lot of variety like Warhammer, but women.

Warhammer is already LOTR turned up to 11. Plus the battles really were never the point of that story.

I kind of feel that Lotr total war sounds fun on paper until you realise it would be a way more barebones Warhammer fantasy.

Dont get me wrong, I love Lotr but it just does not bring much unit variety for a game like this.

Like it would be weird to see Gondor declare war on Rohan etc.

Exactly. It makes sense for The Empire to have a war with Bretonnians and high elves, but the good/order vs evil/destruction is essential to LoTR.

Exactly. the good/order vs evil/destruction is essential to LoTR.

Not really. In the books the various factions needs to be convinced to join the fight
