Total War: WARHAMMER III

Total War: WARHAMMER III

Ver estadísticas:
what faction do you think has the best roster?
this is in five categories
1. low tier. 0-2
2. mid-tier (tier 3, and maybe pieces of 2 and 4)
3. high tier. (tier 4 and pieces of tier 5)
4. doomstack
5. overall/general/average.
the difference between high tier and doomstack is that high tier armies are balanced mixes of strong units, typically the faction's specific strengths, with some weaker units mixed in, doomstacks lean heavily into one unit type, though I prefer to mix in a hero and some units that are good at dealing with the counter to the main unit, and therefore tend to be more hit or miss based on the enemy army.

best = strongest 20 unit army, best for campaign (i.e. low upkeep etc), most enjoyable to play?

I'd say something like that :

Low tier : Vampire Counts for their mass buffed zombies, especially after you got Ghorst skilled up his factionwide buffs.
But Dark elves and their mass darkshards (t0 or t1) ap missiles or shades (t2) are probably the greatest contender for the title !

Mid tier : Dwarf, they get their best units at tiers 3-4, like organ guns, grudge rakers, ironbreakers, irondrakes, slayers 2h, ... and they are all crazy good !

High tier : There's multiple choice here, High Elves have their t5 dragons and phenix, Beastmen can stack mortis engine with incarnate elemental beast and jabberlsythe while also having gorgons and cygors, but their unit cap makes it too long to get them...

Doomstack : i don't know i never play doomstacks

Overall : Skaven i'd say, their unit roster covers well all area (excepts fliers), they have good monsters, good artillery, good ranged infantry, stormvermins can become good if you play clan moulder, you can have menace bellow during fights and often ambush-attacks your foes so... Even if i'm not fond of skaven you can make very different army compositions across all their roster and delete ennemies with ease
I would personally say.
1. dwarfs with their irondrakes, thunderers, dwarf wariors and gyrocopters or lizardmen for the chameleon and redcrested skinks.
2.every faction gets good stuff here.
3.dwarfs. ironbreakers and their artillery. maybe chorfs
4. dwarfs. engineer, 1/2 trollhammmer copter, 1/2 brimstone guns and 15 thunderbarges. before ToD it would go to chorfs, before them it would go to empire
5. dwarfs

you can choose or do each separately

Daemons of Chaos is high tier because they get the demonic units of every demon faction. Tier 1: Screamers, Khorne Marauders, Khorne Furies, Plague Toads, Blues. These cover all of your bases (anti-large, flying anti-large, flying melee to shut down ranged units, ranged, poison, and anti-infantry).

Tier 3: Khorne skullcannons, all of the Chaos Warrior variants, Seekers, rot flies, flamers.

Tier 4-5: Khorne Minotaurs, flying flamers, Soul Grinders, etc.

Daniel himself is pretty mediocre without mods. But his army is arguably the best in the game.

Dark Elves. Illegal amount of AP shooting, and without requiring direct LoS, plus good melee infantry, decent heavy cav and gorgeous monsters.

True, very subjective.

Personally (biased), I'd say Vampire Counts. I have all I want/need at all stages of the game, plus my favorite Lore of magic (Vampires). VCs need a rework, but even as it currently stands, they're the only race where I have nothing to criticize. I suppose if I had to come up with one thing, it would be the poor leadership, but with IoN + Undying Horde + Raise Dead, I really couldn't care less.

I also like combined arms and corsairs and I get what you mean, but some factions have amazing rosters and awful campaign or the other way around, greenskins for example have strong campaign mechanics but bad campaign

Low Tier:
Dark Elves. Not the flashiest army but they will beat almost anything and dark shards are among the best units in the game overall so ..yeah..them.

Mid Tier:
Depends on how much you want to cheese, plenty of armies shine here. If I exclude 4 dwarfs become a lot less competitive in the category though they are obviously still a strong pick, Skaven really get into their groove at tier 3 though spamming plague claws / ratlings is a bit cheesy. Plenty more choices but those would be my 2 preferred ones.

High Tier:
High Elves if you support it with life magic, otherwise probably one of the Demon Factions which sort of defaults to Khorne because.. well ..it's Khorne.

Modded one have the best roasters :D

Worst roster is by far Nurgle, I still haven't managed to go past turn 15 or so on Kugath because there's simply no solution for Imrik. Dude just crosses the water and ends your campaign turn 10, 4 times out of 5

Y'all are sleeping on Skavenslaves. Yes they're the trashiest of trash, but they cost like 30g a pop (with techs) and Skaven economy is pretty good (somehow). Why bother having good units when you can instead have a billion rats do 1 damage over and over again, run away for no reason and repeat. There isn't a single army in the game that can stand up to 4 armies of skavenslaves with a few actual good ranged units thrown in so you don't die of boredom.

Units seperately from their faction makes little sense.

Chaos Dwarves have extremely powerful units, yet they're limited in number by mechanics.

Others benefit more from tech and upgrades.

Some have better economy.

It would make more sense to ask which are the best lords early game, mid game and late game.

So I'll answer the only one that makes sense, Imrik has the best doomstack against the AI. Extremely powerful lord and heroes, units and buffs. Can deal with all armies and all maps fast.

If you want infantry charge, Skarbrand.

If you want want cavalry and beast/demon charge, Vlad/Daniel/Tamurkhan simply due to vanguard deployment.

If you want ambush, Snikch.

If you want guns and artillery, Elspeth/Drazhoath

If you want an airforce, Malakai.

I was going to say "don't sleep on Tzeentch for the air force !" but then i remembered one thing : Thunder Barge.

Tzeentch is excellent to snipe a lord/hero/single big unit tho. So Vampire Count get destroyed, as for Tomb King/Vampire Coast they can defend themself a little.
