Generic Lords - which are top tier?
I was trying to find some form of ranking or analysis on generic lords, but the vast majority is on the legendary lords only. In essence which are the top tier generic lords (immortal empires) in terms of utilization in campaign and/or being a power house in itself?

You have any links to those, or maybe give your own insights?

Much appriciated!

1. Lord of Bretonnia
2. Exalted Great Unclean One
3. Strigoi Ghoul King

Definitely a hot take list especially number 1. Strigoi I might say maybe if they make bigger crypt horrors. Say a crypt chungus. To buff but the naming isn't final. Just because he'd be a big lad.

High/Dark Elf Casters cause on top of strong spells, they get Dragons and one Dragon Breath can delete an entire unit. Also, even tho they are casters, the Dragon can tank quite a bit as long as it's not focused by ranged. Can also crump on hellcannons and other artillery if need be.

I'd say pretty much any caster lord with a strong mount.

Melee generics will always be a poor man's duelist legendary lord.
Slann, 2 bound banishment, regeneration, spells for days, ward save aoe bubble, barrier and they actually hit pretty hard in melee if you need too

The best "Generic" lord?
High Elf magister lord that has the incendinary trait. Or however you spell it.
Second spot would be Drycha's treelords.

Generally though, the best lords will always be the support type lords. Those that are decent fighters, but just make others around them better. (or enemy worse)
Take Empire for instance, Arch Lectors are the best pick. No matter what.

I tried such a mage once, and didn't get along with it... I find especially this trait useless. Perhaps I did something wrong, but this mage just sucked every time, I tried to use it melee. So I avoid this trait now.
What level did you get them to though? They're not really any good in melee until they get their dragon. Then the incendiary trait is well worth it.

rune lords
only caster that wont make other casters in the army useless
while also being good in the frontline both as a great buffer and a mediocre but better then the average caster melee

I don't think it's worth to have more than one of the same type of caster in an army. It's not useless, but not realy worth it imho. However, Rune lords/smiths are the only dwarf-casters...

I don't think different multiple casters are useless, hawever. Especially because those factions usually have good mana-buffs.
as mentioned already dwarves dont use winds
two rune casters is twice the spells without a winds pool you run out of
meanwhile a rune hero is definitely worth it to bring for its armor and weapon buff to the army
its basically a hero with a red skill line that buffs every unit
they also have good econ buffs if you just want them as a defensive army
they are just good at everything, and not even just a little good

Hm. I think I have much more use with a passive trait, that reduces unit-upkeep and/or building costs. And even a bound spell is better. You can all use this as soon as you recruit the mage, and won't need to wait until you get a dragon...

Maybe such mage is good for Imrik (I'm not sure: will Imrik-mages get their dragons sooner than others?) But even for Teclis' mages I prefer other traits.

But I'm at least on par, that Archmages are my most favorite generic lord. I don't play HE much, anymore, however.
Very fond of Daemon Princes in Warriors of Chaos campaigns atm.

Nurgle Daemon Princes especially.
