Generic Lords - which are top tier?
I was trying to find some form of ranking or analysis on generic lords, but the vast majority is on the legendary lords only. In essence which are the top tier generic lords (immortal empires) in terms of utilization in campaign and/or being a power house in itself?

You have any links to those, or maybe give your own insights?

Much appriciated!

WoC Chaoswarrior/Sorcerer are fricking strong imo.
Also, this was in tww2 tho, the generic melee beastmen lord was honestly op. They wrecked everything even solo. Don't know if its still the case.

That's the only two I know, that are/were strong. All others are just meh at best.
Sorcerers are strong overall, because of their spells, but they all fall short when it comes to fighting in melee.

1. Lord of Bretonnia
2. Exalted Great Unclean One
3. Strigoi Ghoul King

as a general rule, if they have a lore of magic they're probably better than other generic lords that don't have any magic

it depends on the faction and personal preference
I usually like lords who can buff certain units, such as Saurus old blood for lizardmen who can reduce upkeep of saurus warriors by whooping 5+20+8+9+10=52%

Scaven Master-Warlock (especially for clan sryre)
Scaven ruin-priest
Scaven pest-priest (for clan pestilence)
Scaven master-assassins, especially for clan eshin... (I just LOVE amubshes.)

High Elf Arch-mages bought with 60 influence. (fire is my favorite. but white or high are pretty awesome, too. I just love offensive magic... I think some would say, that life is the best, though.) But the real reason imho, is that they will get a dragon as mount eventually...

I also like the ork-shaman.

rune lords
only caster that wont make other casters in the army useless
while also being good in the frontline both as a great buffer and a mediocre but better then the average caster melee

High Liche Priests for Tomb Kings. ;-)

Treeman lord: has no problem striking enemy lords in moshpit due to sheer size, pocket heal spell, caster, hides in the forest.

I don't think it's worth to have more than one of the same type of caster in an army. It's not useless, but not realy worth it imho. However, Rune lords/smiths are the only dwarf-casters...

I don't think different multiple casters are useless, hawever. Especially because those factions usually have good mana-buffs.

Agree some of those treeman lords can be nasty.

Dwarf "casters" are a unique consideration because they don't draw from the same pool of Winds like other races' do. Having two runesmiths means you straight up cast twice as many spells. Not like other races, who instead burn through their resources twice as fast (so they get the spells out faster, but still the same number).

The best "Generic" lord?
High Elf magister lord that has the incendinary trait. Or however you spell it.
Second spot would be Drycha's treelords.

Generally though, the best lords will always be the support type lords. Those that are decent fighters, but just make others around them better. (or enemy worse)
Take Empire for instance, Arch Lectors are the best pick. No matter what.

I tried such a mage once, and didn't get along with it... I find especially this trait useless. Perhaps I did something wrong, but this mage just sucked every time, I tried to use it melee. So I avoid this trait now.

My personal top pick is the female Vampire Admiral due to having both ranged attacks and spells while also not being bad in melee.
