This time might be different, though, since their new DLC business model. No bundle as well.
And bundle won’t be available till release since steam won’t allow bundles to be created unless the product can be purchased
Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. We'll have to wait until tomorrow then.
Thank you.
Anyway, NEVER preorder.
I agree it's the same as ToD, but i'm pretty sure ToD had no initial discount.
Just the bundle discount.
A couple of reasons. One is studies have shown people experience more joy in anticipating something than they actually get receiving it. So pre-ordering can make it feel like a thing that is already yours, and on it's way, rather than a think that you don't have, and need to buy in the future.
This could give them more than the few cents saved on the interest earned in the pre-order period would create. End up with more joy over all because they pre-ordered.
Another reason, is you don't have to see the developer of the game you like an the enemy. Pre-ordering, like wish listing, causes steam to promote it more, it puts the game in the popular upcoming section of the store. It also lets the company know how successful something is, and decide how many resources to allocate it.
Maybe you just see Sega/CA/GW as evil, and would never pre-order from them, but what about pre-ordering from indie devs to help them out more?
Finally, just easing budgeting/mental load.
Maybe people know they are bad at holding onto money, so when they have it, pre-order stuff they want, before they end up wasting it on other things. Or, find trying to remember all the stuff they want to buy hard, so they pre-order the stuff they want that's coming out, rather than trying to manage some type of wish list tracking budget sheet.
Maybe those aren't worth the risk of the game being bad for you, but for some people they will be.
I too would like to be able to pre-order just to get it over with.
Be careful how you add them to your basket. I remember last time the bundle link wasn't active straight away, and for a short period, it was somehow possible to buy the 3 packages, but not get the discount for buying all 3.
So just cautioning a little patience. Especially if you're not getting the discount in your basket for all 3, just remove them, and get searching on the forums.
I didn't take long for things settle down last time (I think I had 10 mins of a bit of faffing as I had the issue.) Hope things go smoothly for the people buying it though.
This. Also, a lot of people that pre-ordered the SoC were furious about the content and felt cheated. That being said, it really was crap and really not up to CA's usuall standard (CW dlc, Chaos Dwarf dlc and ToD were all in my oppinion really good).
There is a bundle discount. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/46584/Total_War_WARHAMMER_III__Omens_of_Destruction/
