Big'uns Overperforming
Playing against orcs, there's not a unit I fear more than big'uns. They just seem to beat everything they come up against, taking multiple units to kill and dealing tons of gold in damage to both infantry and large units. When fighting armies with both big'uns and black orcs, the black orcs consistently do much worse against all of my units than the big'uns do despite being a tier higher.

Playing as orcs, they seem broken. I can just double rightclick anything with them, AFK, come back, and they've won. I had a single unit of savage big'uns go through 3 or 4 dwarf infantry units and take maybe 11 losses. I don't have to worry about cav or monsters either since they're anti-large, but also inexplicably excel at taking out infantry.

I feel like something isn't right here. At least for how cheap they are, a tier 2 infantry unit shouldn't be as dominating as big'uns are.

Big'uns are very strong, but they do not overperform at all. They are Monstrous Infantry, so anything with bonus vs Large will do well against them.

In fact, they are kind of disappointing when compared to Savage Orcs or Trolls. Stone Trolls outperform them by a lot.

leave my uns alone
I'd say Greatswords is super cheap(850) and beat all the same or a little higher cost melee Infantry entirely.
OK, I tested Big'Uns vs. Longbeards (Great Weapons), which is same cost with the Big'Uns. And the result shows as belows.

1. The case using 0 Waaagh
Longbeards won the battle.

2. 1 Waaagh
Longbeards still won.

3. 2 Waaagh
Finally, Big'Uns won.

The case of 2 is general scenario while playing Greenskins in combat, so I'd like to say Big'Uns is very much balanced or a bit weak, because Greenskins are conceptually designed as Melee-oriented faction, while Dwarfs are range-focused faction and still played a draw.

No they are not. They might be larger then normal orcs but they are still normal sword infantry (aka small units, you want anti infantry against them, not anti large).

They are just a more expensive meat shield. They arent good against bows and range attacks. They are also slower than most infantry.

With scrap upgrades they get 85 armour and 35% missile block chance so they are quite good against non-ap missiles

No surprise you have issues with Gorbad if you use dmg dealers/ anti large units as meatshields or think letting them run into ranged is a smart idea.

Funnily enough, orc boyz and big 'uns are quicker than plenty of human melee inf.

well it can be you have no clue what situation is happening so you can't really say that's not a good idea.

Got to love forums imaginary fighting of units in unknown situation.

You are correct, I just checked.

Big'Uns are anti-large infantry with less models but more damage. They melt to ranged, because they lack shields.
BIG E. Jan 7 @ 8:58am
They are not very armoured and got no shields so quite weak to missiles.

wen GF with big'uns?
Verify your files and check if you use mods, because Big'Uns haven't ever changed much, if at all, since Warhammer 1.

Not really. They dont easily break formation and when they get stuck in, they cant really get out of it. Thats why having a group of goblins give flexibility to the Orc army, they can move around and attack key range units and lock down enemy lords or big entities. I use BigUns just to defend the lords and key range units, normally on top of a high terrain. IF i wanted a tough expandable unit to throw at the enemy and wanna replace afterwards, its def the Squigs.
