If you think that was a personal attack, you haven't been on the internet very long lol.
I did address the point, you assumed that consumers are being hurt, I told you I haven't been hurt, I'm a consumer; your assumption is false.
I can't change the fact that OP invited you to come here and whine, that was a poor decision in his part; but we're stuck with it.
Ya know what.. I think you're right. It's been frustrating arguing with that guy. I mean he doesn't even bother trying to argue the merits of the game so much as just saying the others were just as bad somehow with zero points made other than asserting that people should buy what they want (absolutely ingenious insight right?) as if somehow that makes all good or bad decisions by a company or a consumer base totally justified.
thank you random internet guy. If I hadn't read your comment i'd have probably gone on trying to convince him for weeks lol. Have a deep thoughts award. :)
You already said you don't like it, I'm certainly not going to be able to convince you to like it, nor do I care to; so why would I waste both our time doing that?
Sir, the thread topic is the OP interrogating why 'historical fans' hate Total War Warhammer. It's not the first one to do so, nor the first time where people have not paid the slightest attention to the answers and insisted others have opinions they actually don't.
Anyone who came in ready to attack is by definition a de-railing troll, but that is how CA has engaged their community management for a long time, with only a brief pause when Simone was the community lead.
For someone who doesn't care, your participation in this thread at all is confusing to me.
I can't go back in time and convince OP not to make a poor decision lol.
I said I'm not going to waste time trying to convince him to change his opinion about the game, that's not the same as saying I don't care to discuss the topic at hand. Hopefully that clears up your confusion.
Yeah, no, I already build my armies in a balanced fashion so they can handle any threat with a mixture of unit's.
Naval battles would not make it different in the slightest.
You want to make the claim it's more strategic, it is not.
I do not make the claim the Warhammer Saga is strategic on the exact same level, because it's not a carbon copy, is it on equal, but it has a similar level of strategy acquired, only with a focus on other parts.
For example, winds of magic effect per province, do the historical titles have this? Do you have to deal with under cities and similar effects?
How about anticipating teleport stance armies?
The list goes on with the different kinds of things you can and should take into account for your strategy.
We lost some parts, we gained some parts. In the end is roughly equal.
The second part wasn't about you, sorry.
How can someone be a secret brand ambassador?
"Well why yes, I also hate that Homeworld 3 has no physics, no ballistics, arcade-style abilities that there's never any reason not to click on when the cooldown is over because they're dumb stat-modifiers instead of real game mechanics, and the poignant understated tone has been replaced with Mexican Soap Opera melodrama... but it is still better than the old Homeworld because Deserts of Karak's success indicated this is what the majority wanted, and I just hate that, you know."
You can replace the Homeworld franchise in this hypothetical with Total War. You can replace the points about aesthetics and gameplay systems to talk about all kinds of games where now ancient hardware was able to run programs more complex than hidden spreadsheets. You can even replace a playerbase with brand ambassadors needing to argue the sunk cost fallacy because they can't pretend the changes didn't happen.
You can't replace your dignity when you pretend to understand a viewpoint and then misrepresent it, visibly.
Ironic.
