Still worth it specially on mages with low armor rating , only by putting this on it seems to discourage the AI to even shoot at them so i always put it on every lord i use.
2. One category never stacks: The "Embed" effect. So that's the left-bottom skill in the hero's skill tree, which is also displayed when embedding the hero in an army.
Having more than one hero with this effect also causes problems, because when you upgrade this skill on one hero, you may see an increased effect but it may revert to the lower skill value on next occasion. So all heroes needed to max out the skill, or none.
A few heroes come with several embed effects, and some do unlock extra embed effects through skillpoints. However, you can only use one embed effect per hero, so the hero needs to select this when joining an hero (leave and re-join for learned skills, like Sharpen Weapons).
3. There are a few effects with the "Lord's Army" description which don't actually work on heroes. These usually come from character traits, or items. A hero needs "Own Army", "Hero's Army" or "All units in Army" for these to work. And then they can be very good, like getting several instances of +MA can really boost low-tier units.
4. All other effects from skills without additional conditions stack out of principle - ammo capacity for the whole army, ward save for nearby lord/hero, artillery range for all friendly units, and so on.
