Is it just me or is Kairos's start for immortal empires super hard?
Hey guys just wanted to ask and see if anyone else has had good ideas/success in Kairos's new start position i'm trying to get past turn 15-30 and to say the least it is one of the hardest I have come across, any tips?

Pink Horrors are pretty much all you need. You will most likely have to sacrifice your capital for the greater good while you finish off enemies one at a time. You can keep the Slaanesh faction as an ally if you want, but they tend to be pretty useless outside of recruiting some extra units. Ghosts are likely to be a bigger problem than Teclis or the other Chaos, so I would take them out first. They tend to steamroll the entire island without the player present. On the mainland, you'll just have to play it by ear. It can go a number of different ways depending on how the AI perform. Defenders will probably be your biggest problem in the mid game. If you can save and ally Skaven, you can get some siege equipment (hopefully), which fills a hole in the Chaos armies.

Kairos is super brutal for certain. I had some success by securing the port, recruiting a full stack and sailing over to kill off teclis even before finishing off the nurgle faction. Managing to save Sarthoral till I confederated him later. Recruiting a second army using battle victories to keep me from going bankrupt to keep the slaanesh faction east from attacking I then moved to take Oxyotl out after that. I made friends with the skaven clan and built an outpost in their settlement to get a few plagueclaw catapults in the army as well.

I've tried the above several times and I wouldn't recommend trying to save Sarthoral. He has nothing unique to him that your own lords won't get. Teclis rarely amounts to anything since he's in the same position as Kairos; boxed in by powerful allies and enemies. He never has a chance to expand and become a major threat. Ghosts, on the other hand, will be out of control, and they don't suffer from your corruption, so it's best to take them out early. They have a much stronger unit roster than High Elves. That usually leaves Defenders and Tlaqua/VC as your mid game opponents... which is a shame, because it's just a lot of boring lizard fights for half the game.

Having Friends north and east that can recruit a full stack from one minor settlement was the goal, while leveling up Kairos as fast as possible to be able to defeat oxyotl. I wouldn't want to sacrifice the main settlement either in order to get some chaos warriors at tier 3 to help hold the line with some chaos warriors sprinkled in with the anti large marauders. I tried going after Teclis later, and found taking him out earlier with a half stack after having to auto resolve against sarthoral to be much more manageable than dealing with a full doomstack of archers. You have time to deal with oxyotl since you have a friendly buffer to your west. but as soon as Sarthoral is dead, teclis always comes south.

Allies in this game are garbage, since they lose all of their AI bonuses, most notably their income, so they can no longer field the amount of armies necessary for defense (the game assumes you will help them). I would only recommend allying Skaven, since they stand no chance against Defenders and you may as well get some Catapults out of it. Remember, Kairos can ambush other armies in teleport stance, so an army full of archers will get utterly destroyed whether you auto resolve it or not. Teclis coming south is inevitable, but he moves slowly and suffers attrition. A 1/3 army in ambush near one of your cities will auto resolve well enough.

I really didn't have a problem with him, but I did a completely different strategy. I never went north , I took over all of the southern wastes. By the time you conquered all the southern waste you have so much cash . I forget how many city state capitals I had .

To be honest never finished the campaign, by the time you head north your just click ,click ,click auto resolve north . It was to boring so I stopped. Not sure if this will help you , but it is an option

Allies do not lose any bonuses in immortal empires. They just tend to be weak if they agree to an alliance early game and need help getting back to full strength.

Step 1.
- Secure your starting province - bum rush Pink Horrors.
Step 2.
- Yeet your starting province (don't even bother to try and hold on to it, the reptiles to the north will come for ya, sell everything that doesn't make you money - if something comes from north or east.. sell the remaining stuff too). Bum rush Oxyotl.
Step 3.
- Kill Sarthoral.
Step 4.
- Kill Nurgle faction.
Step 5.
- Kill Slaanesh faction
Step 6.
- Enjoy super continent that is a ♥♥♥♥♥ to try and invade.
Step 7.
- World domination!

See, the game has always tricked you by saying "to the X cardinal direction are the hated bla bla"... It's always a trap. Never fall for it. Do what the game doesn't tell you to do.

If your evidence of this is a reddit post by CA 6 months ago, no one actually believes that ♥♥♥♥. Everyone can bring up at least one example they've had where allying a faction made them into a complete liability, and it's not like CA hasn't done this before in past games, either. They have, and it's no secret. It's been a problem with TW games for a long time. In the case that it's not a problem with their bonuses, then it's a problem with the AI not knowing how to react to being allied, on a programming level, which is functionally the same thing.

Gotta agree with this thread. His old start pos was meh, but his new one sucks. You go left, or you go right. And if you go left the enemies to the right will attack and vice versa. And given Kairos STILL has issues with money you can never really defend both sides at once.

what makes it worse is that the elves and lizards to the north will come down with like 4 full stacks all over the continent and you're kinda just F'd cuz you cant be everywhere at once, but you still have to defend them somehow otherwise your income gets yeeted lol.

I miss his old start position.

No it's super easy, just cast spells and Kairos can solo any army.

Yea, but Kairos can only be in place at one time. your enemies will send stacks to both sides and you really cant afford two decent full stacks to defend without going bankrupt

Once he's leveled up.

Problem is it takes time to get him to that level.

I'm starting to wonder if you even play this game.

I managed a VH campaign with him. It was surprisingly linear. I went east until the Slaaneshi daemons, then west to wipe out the lizardmen there. And then NW after Teclis. At which point the Citadel of Dusk, the Sons of Sotek, and Itza were attacking me from the west.

I took Kairos and another stack north-east to wipe out the Last Defenders, while a third stack fought a rearguard action to hold on to my southern provinces long enough to get plenty of cash and recruitment from them.

I did get the Slaaneshis as allies, through offering them unholdable territories, completing the occasional easy mission, and pointing them at Tlaqua on my flanks.

It DOES get dull when the last 30 turns are all vs lizardmen. It can be fun when you can get Kairos blowing up hundreds at a time with his spells.

I didn't get much use out of the WInds of Fate mechanics (too expensive) though the "Reveal Shroud" ability is a good cheap way to see what and where is in your main opponents empire.

It really helped once I realised that to a fair extent, Kairos can play like TW:WH1 Chaos: advance, burn, keep moving, don't look back, don't try to hold territory.

Your win conditions require death. They require holding nothing. Embrace change and move across the world like a transmuting wave.....

Hard for me too.
I rushed for kill the nurgle faction at the start of course, after that instead of the slaanesh one i rushed north to kill the elf.
After the elf i returned for the slaanesh one and lost my capital because of the lisardmen during the work.
Now i have take back my capital and hold it for the moment and i advance to the north with another army.
