I only own TW:WIII do I need to buy the first and second game or can I just buy all the DLC's from Warhammer 3's DLC Page and get to have all playable factions ?

Basically If I buy all of TW1's DLC on TW3's DLC Page would I be able to play as the Empire for example or do I need to also buy the first game ?

If you want to play as a specific lord you need to buy the content they were introduced in.

E.g. if you just buy Grim and the Grave you would be able to play the Empire as Volkmar but not any of the other Empire lords

You only need to buy the stuff that you want to play with right now, just wait for the next steam sale and pick up a couple

If you want to have played all races with all possible lords, you'll need it at one point.

You can unlock the races with just 1 dlc of it, the basegames only lock the LLs the games started with. Afaik the basegame doesn't unlock any units either.

But as Da_Higg says, its a lot cheaper on a sale and goes often enough on sale.

Yeah it’s a bit much that’s why I’d recommend buying the trilogy bundle when on sale but you could wait and get both the older games on sale for around $30ish total. Just keep playing 3 and if you really like it get them on sale

To be personally able to play as all playable faction. Yes. You will also need to register and link your Steam account and your CA access account (for some "freebies").

But you do not need to be able to play as all playable factions. They will be on the map as enemies regardless and most people that buy this game will not play every legendary lord/faction even if they buy them. Since there is a hundred legendary lords and factions in the game (or is it 100+?).
