for those who have a QD-OLED gaming monitor is it worth it ?
Hi

I still don't know if this really worth it because of the price of these expensive gaming monitor and i did see these ''oled'' monitor tend to have burn-in after sometime.

So i really want to know if these monitor worth the price of it and quality, currently i have a ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL so i still hesitate if i make the jump or not.

So far i have my eyes with the MSI MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED, 34" if someone does have it and want to share with me if this worth it or not.

i wanted to mention that i want a 21:9 gaming monitor (3440 x 1440 or 2k) since if i goes to 4k that will tank my FPS

I like my nano IPS monitor more than my OLED, but your mileage may vary. Contrast, pure blacks and other elements of OLED are superior but make some games (primarily horror) impossible to see anything in but that's just for me and my older eyesight. I think OLED looks best on tiny, tiny screens like phones, the deck, switch, etc.

Thought OP was asking oled owners? What's your input worth...

As an oled owner... They are superior in every way expect longevity.
Burn in is a concern, more so for work, less so for gaming.

Picture quality isn't in the same league. At all.

Hell yeah. Its totally worth it. I use LG Evo4 TV 65" for gaming on GF-Now from time to time and my God, the quality on that thing is on another level than any monitor I had before. Also the prices are not that terrible like 2-3 years ago.

I know reading comprehension is tough these days, but if you'd set your gaze on the first sentence, I own an nIPS and an OLED monitor. Thanks, though.

do you have any burn-in issue ? That what i'm really scared for a 1 000 $ CAD monitor this cost a lot and i expect that it will last at least 5 or 10 years

Yes, Its not worth it. Unless you are planning to use your TV for play, having super size monitor is, pointless

No, but I use it only for 6 months. Well, who cares, in 5 years I will probably own new shiny one in some new technology we didnt hear of yet lol

Besides its 65", so I just play on pad and lay down few meters away on the coach, so I will probably never notice if there are any burnouts. You can get the extended warranty in big networks up to 5 years I think, but I just skipped on that. The colors, depth of black, smoothness mmmm. I still use my pleb LED NOC for gaming on my local PC though xD

Ah. I just noticed that QD mark. My TV doesn't use Quantum-Dot technology. It uses AI Gen7 AI CPU instead + Nvidia G-Sync/AMD FreeSync @144hz / 4K and it officialy supports G-Force Now. I officialy bought it for my wife so she can watch Netlfix, but we all know the real purpose behind that purcharse! xD

QD OLEDs are great, I have the MSI 271QPX E2. However, I wouldn't say that WH3 benefits massively from a QD OLED. It's not the right genre of game to really showcase the technological improvements over a quality VA screen.

In a game like Cyberpunk 2077 it's a significant improvement over VA screens, particularly with path tracing enabled. The fast pace action benefits from the improved pixel response times, and the nighttime looks amazing on an OLED with all the neon lights.

oh ok i would think about it but kinda a shame that warhammer doesn't benefit really much of the QD OLED
Nothing much to add here but that 3440x1440 is the best all around res, whether OLED or not. The addition of OLED, small possible caveats as noted above aside, only pushes it further beyond your 16:9's, 16:10's and 32:9's of any kind.

Yes, I am biased but for such good reasons.

So yeah, start with that res, assuming a GPU to run it well enough (pretty much anything with 16+Gb that doesn't have a '6' as second or third digit in it's name) and add the OLED part as budget and reviews allow. I'll add it's not for or just for this one game... never make any upgrade or buy for that sake... but for every game you have and may have for some time.

Depends on what kind of games you play. A widescreen is more immersive, but it's bad for games that require the player to keep an eye on the edge of the screen. The Minimaps in RTS and MOBAs, for example.
