Thought OP was asking oled owners? What's your input worth...
As an oled owner... They are superior in every way expect longevity.
Burn in is a concern, more so for work, less so for gaming.
Picture quality isn't in the same league. At all.
I know reading comprehension is tough these days, but if you'd set your gaze on the first sentence, I own an nIPS and an OLED monitor. Thanks, though.
Besides its 65", so I just play on pad and lay down few meters away on the coach, so I will probably never notice if there are any burnouts. You can get the extended warranty in big networks up to 5 years I think, but I just skipped on that. The colors, depth of black, smoothness mmmm. I still use my pleb LED NOC for gaming on my local PC though xD
In a game like Cyberpunk 2077 it's a significant improvement over VA screens, particularly with path tracing enabled. The fast pace action benefits from the improved pixel response times, and the nighttime looks amazing on an OLED with all the neon lights.
Yes, I am biased but for such good reasons.
So yeah, start with that res, assuming a GPU to run it well enough (pretty much anything with 16+Gb that doesn't have a '6' as second or third digit in it's name) and add the OLED part as budget and reviews allow. I'll add it's not for or just for this one game... never make any upgrade or buy for that sake... but for every game you have and may have for some time.
Depends on what kind of games you play. A widescreen is more immersive, but it's bad for games that require the player to keep an eye on the edge of the screen. The Minimaps in RTS and MOBAs, for example.
