whats the best way to learn warhammer fantasy lore?
I only recently learned there was lore to this and I was all like "woah thats cool" but then I was all like "wait how do I learn it?" and then I was like "waaaagh" or something.

Look, I'm too tired to think of something funny to say for this post so just tell me where to start.

Read the Army books, then novels, then White Dwarf articles if you can find them. Do not listen to youtubers, or trust the wikis that most youtubers get their info from.

I'm gonna guess that this will destroy my bank account.
there is a great channel on youtube: "the book of choyer" - it has a lot of lore and is professionally done!

Well, first you have spend $6000 on a bunch of plastic miniatures that you have to paint yourself. The paint will cost twice as much. After that, a lot of crying. And then you're ready to learn!

On a more serious note, maybe start here: https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Warhammer_Wiki

Great way to learn things that aren't true.

Army books, some people are really clumsy and while they converting them in electornic format for personal use they pressed for error the upload button
it's up to you, if you want to finish it up fast you go on warhammer fantasy wiki, as for a long journey you purchase the very first warhammer fb rulebook and start from there

keep up the good work
Pick a Char you think looks cool or sounds cool

Read books about them. Read books about the chars they run into.
You don’t need to buy the books if you sail the seas for them

Care to elaborate? Or just in the mood for one sentence contrarianism?

I confirm this as best source to begin with. Even developers cite this wiki during interview and show images posted there (even in the last dlc prewiev on march, 28 - just look on Dechala image and her page on wiki, developers literally retell that in short and show that art https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Dechala_the_Denied_One; there were no TWWh 3ocncept arts before, just the one in the very beginning of the article; text is the same as in 2018 when I first knew about her). I learned most of the lore from that wiki since 2016 way before finding armybooks. Moreover, most armybooks are restricted by edition, while wiki have short summary from all editions and even canon conflicts. It is physically imposisble for any adult human with job to read most of the novels or entirety of army books these days, so, english version of wiki is the most suitable.

To add to this, the Warhammer rpg rulebooks are also a great source of lore.
