If his army is ever personally defeated in battle as the player, the player can choose to either end the campaign or continue on with Arbaal being permanently renamed to "Arbaal the Defeated", and receiving chunky army leadership penalties, and factionwide penalties as well.
You'd know this if you booted up his campaign for 20-ish minutes, and just played with the mechanics.
If he defeated he gets a trait called the defeated that gives penalty to diplomacy with Khorne factions and his voice lines change into a weaklings :P
The fact that you bother mention that "debuff" says more of your playing "ability". I didn't even notice it was there until late game. Then again, I'm not some sweatlord minmaxer.
A literal fart of a debuff which is why I made this.
I'd argue that the new voice lines alone makes him sound like such a weakling, pathetic :D
Plus the whole "One of the options available after loss is you just lose the campaign". Like, I do agree the penalties could have been harsher, but at the same time, one of the options is just "You lose".
also I think his model sucks, not like very bad but compared to other old khorne character ( Harald Hammerstorm) it looks extremely generic and lacking details making only 1 valuable khorne lord for me which is skarbrand
I concur.
Also, is there any way to bring his former rep back at all, like should he make the comeback of all time?
Cos, just one example of many I'm sure but, even Napoleon had some dicey less than entirely successful moments in his career but was still treated with utmost caution post Russia and during the hundred days. Sure, Arbaal should have somewhat worse issues than the norm for most LL's after an epic beating but also a small but tough chance to recover some of that prestige aso... maybe something like grudges with his new nemesis or quests with further malus for failing again.
