Yeah, it really shows, GK is in a really awkward spot where he's useful and crucial to Bretonnian early game but really falls off somewhere in the middle of campaign.
Armoury buildings stacking factionwide bonuses are the only thing that somewhat keeps him from utter irrelevance late game.
GK is completely overpowered in that mod.
Changing GK with stats he has right now in vanilla into factionwide battle ability instead of campaign map hero is one option but that would be difficult to balance regarding the number of uses and it would leave the faction without embeddable LH anyway.
Bretonnia actually has a lot of named original characters that could be added as LHs but CA said something about "Bretonnia being complete and not having anything added anymore" so here we are.
There's even Warhammer Robin Hood, Bertrand the Brigand with his band of Merry Men, he was in the army list and had his own model on tabletop,
The main thing is that Bretonnia actually would have enough material for a large update or small DLC if GW gave CA some leeway and also let them add things from Old World tabletop where they actually got a bit of roster expansion.
Sergeant-at-Arms would make a great generic peasant support hero (of course he wouldn't use the knightly vows mechanic) with armywide, passive and activated ability buffs for peasant units.
Faceless for generic assassin/map agent hero type.
Any of them would be good fit for scouting/mobility/scavenging hero when embedded.
Foot Knights with sword with board and anti large AP variants but with quite hefty upkeep , 500, 600 or even more (depending on statline) without Grail Vow because every one of these haughty ♥♥♥♥♥ wouldn't get off their high horse and suffer the indignity of fighting like peasants for anyone who didn't drink from the sacred bathwater cup (unless paid double that is).
Truffle hounds for the usual infantry chasing dog type unit.
Maybe some weapon variants for the Foot Squires (sword and shield version, hybrid with bow version).
None of this will ever officialy happen though because support for TW3 is already ending and CA cares about Bretonnia even less than GW does.
They said that Bretonnian roster is complete so guess what that means. Bretonnia may get some fixes in patches and at some point CA maybe even changes how Green Knight works in update but there is no chance for a new DLC.
Other than that, fairly certain CA have stated that they consider Bretonnia to be complete back in an old Warhammer 2 stream and it would seem they're staying true to their word on that.
Maybe we will have a green knight rework when bretonnia will get one too?
My guess is that she will be a feature of the last DLC The End Times. Though I doubt CA will ever have balls to release it because basicly that is a whole new campaign. Reshuffle of old IE assets will not do.
