Question about the pack Total War: WARHAMMER TRILOGY
Hello guys, I've been watching videos for a while, and I do like Total War type of games, but I do have a question about this pack, it says:

"Boasting all 3 base games, summon the elector counts as the Empire in Total War: WARHAMMER, burrow beneath your foes to establish secret undercities as the Skaven in Total War: WARHAMMER II, or spread deadly plagues to weaken your opponents as Nurgle in Total War: WARHAMMER III. "

Does that means that having the 3 games gives me more content to play Warhammer 3? Like, more factions, to play, more units, etc? What is the reason I would pick up this pack instead of just the Warhammer 3?

Thanks in advance!

Yes.

Each of the three games give you access to their respective "base game" factions/races in WH3.

These are:
WH1 - Empire, Dwarfs, Greenskins, Vampire Counts + Bretonnia (which was added later in a free update)
WH2 - High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Skaven
WH3 - Grand Cathay, Kislev, Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Tzeentch, Daemons of Chaos

--
Keep in mind there are other Free Legendary Lords you can get by various means (such as Epidemious, the most recent one, by linking a CA account with Steam account)
--
Also, these will not give you ALL the factions for those races. Just the base ones. Other factions are acquired through DLC.

Yes, having access to the previous games does give you access to the content in those games for this game. Same it said about the DLC's for those games.

Thanks! Is there any table/wiki or thing similar that I can look up to see what is the content I will be getting by doing so?

Thank you both! It was super helpful, good to know that the price is "worth it" because there will be more races/factions to play with

You're welcome.
Also, I forgot to mention a thing that might not be immediately obvious or intuitive: you do not need to have the "base race" respective game to have access to later DLC factions.

For example, if you want to play the most recent faction added to Empire, Wissenland & Nuln, you do NOT need WH1. You only need the DLC that adds that faction.

So, for example... If I've a DLC for WH2 that adds a faction that is already base on WH3, I wouldn't actually need to have this DLC on WH2 to use it, correct? Or did I got it wrong?

The base races of WH3 are not backwards compatible. You can't play Khorne in WH2, for example.

Maybe a better way to explain it would've been that each of the base games adds the Legendary Lords (and their factions) that came with the game at launch. Sorry for the confusion.

Better to think of individual factions rather than races. I will give another example, using The Empire again:

If you own WH1, it adds the following Empire Lords (faction leaders): Karl Franz, Balthasar Gelt, Volkmar the Grim (actually not sure about him since he was reworked in game 3)
There are two other Empire Faction Leaders, Markus Wulfheart and Elspeth von Draken. These two are added by separate DLCs, one from WH2 (Markus), the other in WH3.
The game they were added is the game they can be played onwards.
So, Franz can be played in all three games. Markus can be played in game 2 & 3. Elspeth in game 3.

Hmmm got it, so factions work on post games, like WH1 to 2, and 1+2 to 3, but not 3 back to 1 or 2, right? I would need the DLC from those older games to be able to use the factions on those, but again, if I have WH3, I see no reason to play 1 and 2 lol

You wouldn't play 1 or 2 themselves, but you'd use their content in 3.
By the way, there's a small distinction between races and factions.
Races are the super group like Dwarfs, Empire, High Elves, etc. while factions are each individual... well, faction... inside each race.

My gosh, this is a bit confusing, won't lie lol

Also I've just noted you are Portuguese (Brazilian here), so: Porque tens que ser tão complicado? hahaha

Não estou a ser complicado XD
É só porque muitas vezes vais ler pessoas a falar de raças e facções e é melhor não confundir, por issto estava a avisar sobre a diferença.

You definitly don't need those. THe immortal empries is just a map painter x1000 times worse even than hoi4, and you will be playing 6 monthes straight to finish a single campagin, it's chaotic, buggy and don't make any sense even if you are into roleplay. Just stick to TWW3 and its campagin, at least it got goals. In IE you have NO goal

I'm sorry I made it more confusing.

Basically if you want to start somewhere, you should get WH3. Think of the other two games as extra-large pieces of DLC that add to the game. It'll be less confusing once you start the game up and see the faction selection screen.
