Tower Defense
So, the current tower defense system is really maintained for IE? This is a wonderful display of contempt for the rabble. I am positively disgusted.

As meme as people expecting changes to something they requested reworked since WH1.
May I suggest that next time, you stop to think for a moment before you request a feature. It tends to help.

Do I really want this changed, because.. It's a 50/50 that it'll get worse.

We need an option to turn if off. Or towers should build only once per battle but be a bit stronger.

System is not bad , maybe all defense structures should be built before the battle not in the middle of it, magically grows from the terrain.

If the towers are changed to permanent like 3k or Attila, we are back to easy levels of wiping out AI units with range in settlements after destroying the towers, since they have no idea how to defend multiple paths, they can't even man barricades properly, the only things which keeps things tactical is you must always be aware that towers are being constantly constructed. At this point I would suggest barricades come already manned with units and those are increased via the garrison building(taken out of the pool of constant construction), next a new skill for all lords that decrease settlement supplies, or just a general campaign method of countering towers in some way indirectly.

It might be that the issue is adressed in 2.0 or 2.1, however, no one knows to what extent (and if at all). So far I would recommend mods, there are a couple which will allow you tailor those battles and the towers to your liking.

Would you really want them delaying IE even longer to fix siege battles?

Siege battle before IE, or IE before Siege battle, I know which one would generate more hate.
They'll get around to it.

There's a mod for that.
People requested a change. There is now a change. Luckily a mod fixes this issue. Now everyone gets something they like.

If it's up to me they can just delete that from the game, the amount of work should be minimal.

You can use the resulting capacity for the hotseat mode that our dog constantly demands or for a more accurate curve drawing at Eldyra, all better than towers that always look the same and absolutely do not fit into the game.

Mods, unlike magic, are real.

They are, and can alleviate i suppose. Just isn't a great system from the start i think personally, More of an annoyance if anything. We are where we are.

I personally dislike this system more than any other within game 3. This has been done much better in other iterations of total war in principle.

I would like if they added customisation to it.
Like you can, at the start of a campaign, change it around however you like and then its locked for that campaign. It is hardlocked for you and the ai.

Dont want towers to be rebuild? untick the box of making it possible and done.
Want more/less supplies? right you go! just push that slider!
Shorter/longer build times? slide it left or right to your desire.

I'd rather have a rework for barricades being place-able anywhere on the map inside the settlement, but I'll be happy if they just add some sliders.
the ai can keep their pre-determined spots for barricades, just give the player more options.

I dunno, aint perfect in wh3 but winning sieges in wh2 didnt proof us being tactical geniuses or legendary progamer...just abusing a weak mechanic...and since attrition kicks in immediatly starve em for 2-3turns if u dont like high losses....historical assaulting a walled defense was always costly and should hurt the attacker.
