Be'lakor's portals. A bit over the brim?
Portals look like a cheat to me. Too easy. If it was only Be'lakor who could use them, even then..But actually, it's any army.
IMHO, Be'lakor's faction is strong enough w/o the portals. If it's a lore thing, they could at least limit it to something like Oxyotl's temple: to have new one, you destroy your old one. And limit it to only himself.
You just appear behind enemy lines and break their backbone by a few city razes. The only thing to care of is to explore territories and to set portals at all needed places before you need them.

Upgrading Demonettes and Bloodletters is a nice unique mechanic. Useful, especially provided upkeep discounts for demons, but not overpowered.
Confederating other LLs - also a powerful thing. Interesting, but not a game changer, I would say...

But you don't buy anything for belakor. Hes not a dlc, everyone with all 3 games got him in IE. So what exactly are you on about here?

I find that it adds a lot of replayability to the campaign, being able to go in many a place at the very start of the campaign. Don't use them if you don't want to teleport, use them if you want to. Simple as that.

Does AI Belakor use the portals? He had a great chance to attack Gryphon Woods or w/e it's called during my Empire Campaign, the settlement was unguarded and tier 1 and the portal was right there, but not in 100 turns did he attack it. What gives?

Thanks in advance.

Either he was busy in a different place or bugged.

Maybe you should only be able to use portals if you have an all spearman army?

Then he can't use the portals for like 30+ turns cause only Tzeentech spearmen exist

@The Void Boy yeah your argument would kinda make sense if you had to pay for Belakor

The AI doesn't use the mechanic, so why does it matter if the player has more choice for enjoyment purposes? Are you complaining about an extra feature you have the potential to use, if you want?

Realms of Chaos campaign revolved around rifts spawning, so why can't the literal god Belakor spawn rifts and invade the mortal world? It's very thematic and very fun. Similar to the wood elf teleportation - it greatly spices up the game and opens up vast replayability dynamic. So far, his and sisters' campaign were my most two memorable ones in over 1,000 hours with immortal empires. Most other factions have the capacity to conquer or see the entire map, but you get bored before discovering 1/8th of it.

Because these people hate fun.

I thought it was a neat little unique faction mechanic to make him feel different from the other Chaos.... But wtf do I know.
Isaac Oct 17, 2022 @ 2:22pm
yeah, belakor is so broken, it is unbelievable. comparable to taurox in TW2. he can just do everything and even more.

Yeah, I can live with that. And you are right: different players can find fun in different aspects of the game. Maybe someone likes backstab carnages Be'lakor's faction is able to unleash. I just tried a few different WoC factions. They are all interesting, but I did not (persnoally) find any interest in teleporting around the world and just destroying everything I want, while they are defenseless. While, playing with intentional handicap of not using best mechanics is also meh...So that other WoC lords were more or less on par with Be'lakor, I thought maybe CA could limit that portal use.
