Crash when selecting skills for the Hobo Golbin Legendary Hero

It's not every time, but it's enough now that I have to save before levelling him up just to be careful. I'll click his skill to level up then my screen goes black, the mouse turns into the spinning wheel of death and the game crashes.

It's getting incredibly annoying. Cause it always happens when I forget to save... Just fought a horrible battle against Grimgor with Ashen, where I barely managed to win against his two armies and then boom. Crashed and now I have to fight that gruelling battle all over again.
