Kislev need to play defensive due to the constant northern chaos menace, but if by turn 25 you stuck in the mountains and lost the capital the problem is not the game balance, is you
Although I might have just gotten lucky as I have had very little trouble from the south. Azhag does border me but has so far not declared war at all while Drycha is still busy with Empire factions and hasn't really bothered me at all. Astragoth is starting to encroach on the Norscan territories to my north east and I'm starting to get a little concerned that a war with him may kick off sooner or later.
- You want to kill 1 of the 4 threats asap, be it azhag or clan mouderl first.
- Then you rush the other spending pretty much all your money on kossar stacks.
- Then after that's done you hope kolstaltyn is crippled to 1 city and yo save him while keeping his old land.
- Congrats you survived to turn 60. Now you can do whatever you want toll archaon and the other chaos warrior factions home in to you.
You can tone down the difficulty if you want to. IIRC you can change difficulty mid-game, so you could even put it back up after you get through the difficult start. You could probably figure it out eventually even without changing difficult though, just got to learn what works/doesn't work at the beginning.
It's supposed to be a difficult campaign though. They're right on the borders of Norsca and the Chaos Wastes. You should expect to be struggling against constant assaults.
Then wipe out drycha and her meme zoo stacks - Ostermark is alive and happy.
Then carstein and sylvania and now you r solid - south southeast is sealed by dwarfs and you have rich provinces of sylvania.
And now you only have to deal with Festus and you're golden, supported by strong future allies from the south and can now concentrate on uniting Kislev's regions and beating crap out of norscan and conquering north.
But i can agree, northern side of the map is overcrowded by majors, Kostaltyn games is a pain, because he has to fight endless norscans and can only expand to Norsca, but these regions are red and impossible to defend from gorillion chaos majors all around
In general, everyone says that the biggest threat is the Moulder Clan. But I think the real danger is the draycha in the south. The beginning of the game is very aggressive, the imperial ai can not react in anyway. It completely dominates each battle with his powerful units in early game. And ai can quickly recovers even if his army is destroyed. When you're done on the mountain, there are two possibilities. The lucky enemy is either you or the others. If he's fighting dwarves or the empire, destroying the tree is your top priority, then capture other cities. The first battle with draycha is a bit difficult, but if you get it done and if you capture the ostemark completely. This region that generates more income than Kislev when it is completly captured.
Kostaltyn does a great job on Immortal Empires. If you're lucky, he can even handle the clan moulder on his own. If he couldn't destroy it, get it done quickly for him. Then destroy the norskan tribe that pragg is fighting. I usually gift the cities to him. There is nothing in the north but war. In general, killing vampires provides both an economic benefit and we relieve the empire. Or you can go to festus in the west. Capturing single-zone locations helps to get governor slots. I usually target whoever destroyed the most areas. So you can take the imperial lands without reducing the the relationship.
By then, kislev city level is already 5. Complete your army, make chaos your ♥♥♥♥♥. The rest is easy. Meanwhile, the chaos dwarves somehow become a barrier between you and the chaos. If you keep your early game relationship well and prevent wars, the archeon will wage war on chaos dwarves XD
Of course, the variables are constantly changing. If Skarsnik grows in the east, you have to go back to the mountains. If you don't prevent the war with the chaos dwarves, trouble again. But after getting this far in the game, the problems that are easy to deal with are at least for kislev.
I would agree with this. Drycha was always the spoiler for me. Once she took Bechafen, she would smash Zavastra or Vitevo, meaning of you defended one she would hit the other. While you were occupied with her, Throt and Azrael would build up for a strike.
I found some success by avoiding any diplomacy with the empire factions she hates and gifting to get an NA pact before heading north.
In my best start, Drycha and azhag went to war with each other, giving me time to smash Throt and Azrael without worrying about my southern border. This made it much easier to snowball.
I never had beef with Drycha in the first place.
In IE, I think that Clan Moulder and Azazael are quite big threats, to due them destroying your settlements. ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan if Archaon declares war on you, though. But I agree with your strategy, I just never went down south and took out Skarsnik, Vlad and Drycha.
do you ever consider to be a VERY VERY bad player? i mean , you suck and you come here to cry.
You can, after finishing your baby talk, go to Option and select "Very easy/very easy" difficulty.
You welcome.
Then depending on how unlucky you are Drycha might declare war on you instantly. If she doesn't declare war on you, you can actually drag Drycha into war against clan moulder.
