Does miscast buff/debuff work as intended?

I was wondering about the miscast chance buffs and debuffs and if they work as intended. An overcasted spell has 50% miscast chance. When i take Alarielle with her Stave of Avelorn it says -50% miscast chance on the item. But in battle when i activate the ability, i don't have a miscast chance reduction. The overcasted spells still has 50% miscast chance.

Weirdly, when i test this vs Wurrzag and his passive +100% miscast item, my miscast chance on overcasted spells is 100% when activating Alarielles ability.

Does this mean, you can't reduce the miscast chance unless your opponent is increasing the miscast chance? So every item in the game with a miscast reduction is useless since the spell miscast is a hard minimum limit? Does this work as intended?

Mmm, I'd expect it to make the miscast at least 25% in each spell.

I recently tested it in WH2 and it functioned like expected. The overcast miscast is reduced with Alarielle. Sadly that obviously means it is a current bug
