legendary/very hard with mods to make even harder, once you understanad the game, every game becomes more easy, its natural.

Recently switched from L/VH to Legendary / Normal as the cheese was becoming tedious.

Need the Legendary campaign difficulty for there to be any kind of challenge but once you've snowballed any semblance of challenge completely drops off anyway but that has always been the way with this game in my experience!

At least with Normal battles you can slug it out man for man without relying on ranged units so much, again in my experience.

Play whatever works and is fun for you :steamhappy:

Legendary/vhard with mods: NNOBBs, unnatural selection, AI Upgrades Settlements and some AI mod to help it improve on campaign map in various ways. Game feels borderline unplayable without these due to how bad the AI is :steamsad:

VH/VH.
I don't use Legendary simply because I like to reduce the game speed and watch the fights sometimes or video record massive amounts of spells used.
Nothing is funnier then Kairos + 19 birds using Blue Flames against Belakor in slow motion.

VH/VH

Normal/Normal

I play video games to relax, not to face some kind of greater challenge.
In the end its just about your personal fun, play on what appeals to you.
I never go above NORMAL difficulty in games.

Hard/Normal (for the first time) and i guess Very Hard/Normal is my goal.

Normal/normal as practice etc rn as I haven't played at all (and only dabbling even then) since just after launch/RoC as I've been awaiting IE, a few patches, and Chorfs (as the last of my fave old TT factions in) for a fuller, hopefully less buggy experience. Also been a long time since WH 1/2 nm any other TW games played habitually so I'm a bit rusty nm new mechanics etc. I'll add that I don't really watch yt vids etc for help (though LoTW's current IE faction campaign review series has helped choose campaigns) as my time limits mean choosing either that or actually playing, so learning is all on me.

I will be jumping up to hard/hard at least after a few more sessions and as my pace of play speeds up though, as was my norm for older TW games. I probably won't ever reach legendary level though as I play for fun over outright challenge.

As far as other ppl are concerned, just go with what works. There's no shame in not running everything on hard and up... nm some campaigns here are naturally trickier than others. A little secret of mine (though not a thing for this series)... Due to a significant backlog I really want to get through and preference for a smoother rate of progress and hating being stuck overlong in many games/genres, I use adjustable difficulty in other games when multiple tries at a roadblock don't succeed.

hard/hard. Normal is just easy

Normal/easy
Kangaroo Salesman Apr 15, 2023 @ 10:30am
Hard/Hard because i'm not that good. It's fun but not too difficult.
Tzenka Apr 15, 2023 @ 10:37am
VH/VH because I have more fun that way.

I spend a long time playing normal normal, and switched to VH only when I became to be bored.
