Installed the Radmin VPN program. Connected to the common room. That's it... An unspecified error has disappeared. You can also create a local game.
From what I understand this is caused after a game update where servers and game clients don't appear to be on the same version.
I'd recommend the following:
1. Relaunch Steam, this should force any updates to start
2. Restart your PC, this worked for me when the Chaos Dwarves launched
3. Temporarily disable internet security
Came across this delete thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/1142710/discussions/0/3826413850825393221/1 where a user named Santanico sum it up around the "Unspecified error". It's just pure random:
-Set time to automatic/sync it
-Restart PC/Game
-Reinstall it
-Join lobby via code
The only viable solution as of today is getting a VPN, and I don't want to spend any other amount of money for them after the Chaos Dwarves update. I mean, there are still players that can actually play the game, me and my friend can see their lobby in the MP list.
This a a shout out to any other players getting across this problem, but also a cry for help at CA : Your 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 just annihlated the game, to the point nobody can play it casually. People do have now to solve their problem on their own. This is not normal for a game of this scale.Completly unacceptable. Personnally i am not going to play it anymore until a fix is in place.
See you in 6.0 because they are too busy planning their dlcs and scenarios instead of replying ANY of their technical support thread
so far i tried all what i found:
-time sync
-deleting stuff in the folder of thecreativeassembly in the appdata
-adding an exception in the antivirus
-reinstalling the game
nothing seems to work mmh
