Should I buy the trilogy or DLC? Never played Total War before.

Never played any Total War before.

I'm buying Empire, Napoleon, Rome II, and I want WH3 but man this one is pricey for everything.

Just get Trilogy or just WH3?

No reason to buy anything rather then base total war 3.U get good amount of factions and lords to keep u interested for a while.U can always get more stuff on october sale later.Dlcs mostly add additional lords to play with,units are just a cherry on top.

U can get 1 or 2 later if u are intersted in playing factions they offer.Basically they only add new older factions:dwarfs,elfs,empire and so on.

If you never played ANY TW game, just buy one, and look if it's for you
If you want to start with Warhammer, get just the base game and maybe a cheap good DLC (WoC or Chorfs) to start with

To play empire you would need either:

Game 1: Karl Franz and Balthazar Gelt.

The Grim and the Grave: Volkmar the Grim.

The Hunter and the Beast: Markus Wulfhart.

Get all three games and DLCs. And then you're still missing content, Hidden behind a third party account and needless linking to your Steam Account. Those who have no problem with that are most likely those with no worth to their account in the first place.

Warhammer 2 gives you it's four faction's base lords, two per faction.

High elves: Tyrion and Teclis.

Dark elves: Malekith and Morathi.

Skaven: Queek and Skrolk.

Lizardmen: Mazdamundi and Kroq-Gar.

Owning any lord from a faction also unlocks the FLC lord(s) for that faction so game 2 can also give access to:

High Elves: Alith Anar.

Dark Elves: Lokhir Fellheart.

Skaven: Tretch Craventail.

Lizardmen: Tiktaq'to.

For empire, the base wh2 itself doesn't give anything.

Technically those are races. Each lord has its separate faction.

Just finished the prologue. One of the best games ive played in awhile. the quality is amazing honestly.
