Updates taking ages

WTH do patches in this game has to basically install again the whole game from 0? This happens with no other game, every single 200mb hotfix means i need more than 120 Gb free space because the game multiplies x2 the whole install folder while updating....

A hotfix 200mb update than in other games takes 20 seconds with this my computer needs 40 min....

well this isnt baldurs gate... ii dont think you can give a single example of a "famous" update of a really heavy game to justify every single miniscule hotfix of warhammer total war. Less than 2 weeks ago we had another hotfix for this game and it meant the same as always and as of today, nearly prefering to uninstall and reinstall the whole game instead of letting it update.
Also this havent been an issue with any other total war game before (played single medieval 1) and we run basically the same engine since empire total war. This should be something they should address.

I don't know how far ago this could be an issue, but it's only really noticeable due to the increasing size of each game.
It started being really noticeable in WH2, and even more now due to the >100 GB game size.

But the point is that - files are updated, steam backs them up, size is taken temporarily.

I get you are frustrated but it's not just this game. Far from it.

Useful options:
Free up more space.
Uninstall and reinstall.
Write to steam and ask for changes.

the future is now old man. get a proper quality m.2 nvme ssd they are at least 3 times faster than whatever you have. mine takes less than 3 minutes to patch not including download time

this definitely isn't the issue. I have 2 computers which both are all over the place, both have downloaded the patch and are wildly switching from 30 seconds to 22 days to in estimation patch time....
