Dwarf ranged units not firing and bracing???
basically i have organs guns line, a thunderers line, and as frontline i use a few heroes, it has always worked wonders for me to mow down enemy units while stuck trying to kill a lord or hero.

But now, i noticed they started bracing even when ennemies were far enough with a few heroes/lord in between?? wtf??? this seems to cause them to stop firing... how the helll do you stop this BS.

No its not a LOS issue.

For starters, you could just drop a screenshot or 5.

Organ guns fire in basically a straight line.

They're being blocked by your thunderers, esspecially being that close to the enemy.

Target something further away and they'll probably fire over your dudes.

First off, mods? I see you running a 40 stack army.

If your'e using a mod that changes animations than that is probably the problem. If not than im not sure because it looks like the enemy is at the bottom of a hill so your cannons should be able shoot.

Looks like 2 armies. Its 2 lords.

Can't say much to the screenshot, i can see the general battle, but not the intended target for the selected organ gun. Elevation is hard to judge if you can only see one half, but it appears to be at the bottome end of the slope.

I see the "dig in" ability just stopped beeing suspended, probably not done with repositioning the crew?

Almost all other organs should have clear LoS.

The game in the screenshot is using mods. The white dot in the corner gives that away.

That said, its unlikely to be relevant, Some areas of some maps are just bugged when it comes to line of sight (the Devs have fixed many of them, but not all).

I've been playing vampire coast and noticed my ranged units doing the same. (thats why i came to the forums.) I ran a couple of tests with various set ups and closeness for the units and it looks like ranged units (particular gunpowder units) arent willing to fire if other units are too close or in line of site. I noticed they would go between "firing" and "brace" stances back and forth. It might be the patch

Nah it's like this since atleast warhammer 2. Gun type units, esspecially infantry, have always been real finicky to use optimally. It's why I never take more than 1 or 2 max.

It's hard to use gunpowder infatry optimally, but im sure you'll get it. Dont just assume you have a skill issue, you've been playing the game a long time, look at the mechanics and how things work and you'll get better. You'll see whats going on when you pay attention, look at the details and try.

Nah I get how to use them and enjoy their presence in small doses. I just can't be arsed to bother fiddling with their placements. Rather just take more archers/cannons/cav/etc :P
