Ignore the salty idiot above me - The curve inst to bad whilst it looks intimidating with the sheer amount of lords and units in the game you will learn quickly to categorise alot of them. Dont be afraid to fail early and often as you do learn but its defiantly a rewarding . Probably one of the best examples of a game where you learn just by doing
Sure you can group units by categories, but it's only a start
On the battle however, when you will enter your first battle with 20 units on your hands you will feel overwhelmed, and you will certainly eat dirt from AI
So rather steep curves on the battles, but once you familiarized with it yourself, it's great
While there is a lot to learn, you can take your time with it and still have a lot of fun.
I will end by saying you wont regret buying this game.
Try to not auto resolve all fights, some of the best fun is fighting or losing.
My favorite is warriors of chaos, archy Boi.
Best meme team/doom stack is having a melee lord, and 19 melee heros on juggernauts.
Literally unstoppable, I can solo any army.
And top it off give your lord lighting strike perk. Throw in a nurgle or fire mage, and let the comedy show never end.
And if you are fighting Cathy, and their dumb air balloons which never come to the ground. Same with some dwarf units. Bring a blood thirster, of the fist of khorne to smack them out of the sky, soul grinder works too... but thats a late game unit, or early if you know how to use the soul sacrifice gifts.
Your best long range artillery will be the nurgle soul grinder to wreck infantry. The tzeentch soul grinder is good for single large units. You can snipe the enemy lord before they even have time to engage.
Play the tutorial as boring as it sounds; it will help you get your feet on the ground. There is a good curve that has to be dealt with, but watching YouTube guide videos helps a good deal as well. I personally like Colonel Damneders and Zerkovich for their guides. Every faction generally plays different to some degree, and some faction leaders have unique mechanics that require some guidance or reading up on to play. Not hard game to get the hang of but requires some time invested into learning.
As long as you don't click away every tutorial pop-up without reading it, you'll be fine.
Tutorial is boring for experienced players, but it is good introduction for newcomers..
In different words, tutorial is best way , how to start this game and get into it.
Second, I buyed the game! (I,II and III).
Third. LMAO I'm horrible at it.
Fourth. I'm having quite of fun, war is not the only thing on the plate, so I kinda can "survive" by talking with the other factions.
That's been said, the game as many DLC's, I'm not gonna buy them all, I would like to play with some of them, but I wanna learn the game first before investing more.
you got a bad memory friend?
