No new engine. To be clear an engine is just the building blocks for the game, a new engine doesn't mean everything will run better it just means your working with newer and different building blocks. To change engines now would be really, really stupid for CA which odds are is a personalized engine built to make these games purposefully.
Just because an engine is 10+ years old it doesn't mean there isn't updates happening, Ie new blocks being made to include different features in game, or lighting efforts and what not. It just means the Dev team has been working with the same type of blocks for years and understand how to put them together to get them working. A new engine means learning how a new set of blocks works and figuring out how to best put everything together to get what you want out of the game.
It's funny to see people here can't grasp simple logic. It's like you got your first car in college, and it's the only car you have ever driven, then how can you possibly make any sensible comparison between MT, DCT, AT, CVT... and all the different transmissions, and how FWD, RWD, AWD cars handle differently.
While I simply stated my disappointment which is entirely entitled to myself, instead of offering counter arguements, you guys chose to pick on something you consider "irrelevant".
if you think it's so irrelevant why even talk about it and just focus on the topic, to start with???
"hey, I only played warhammer total war, but I believe I know the whole total war series very well, and warhammer III is the best total war out there ever".... sounds convincing to you??
Please grab some common sense before going to keyboard
