Your reinforcement armies that come in will be controlled by a friendly computer.
If you want to only fight a single army at a time then you want to use "Lightning strike".
Those are two different factions. With large armies ticked off each faction get 20 units, rather then allies getting 20 and enemies getting 20.
Edit: Incorrect.
The faction is called Wissenburg & Nuln
Ahh nevermind. Used to only be called Wissenland.
This is incorrect. If you turn off "control large army" you will only have 20 units on the field at a time and your reinforcements won't come in until one of those 20 routs off the battlefield or is wiped out. Same goes for your AI opponent. You can check the "AI control" box next to your reinforcing army and they will come in as a separate faction (and behave like idiots). This also allows your AI opponent to bring in an extra army as a separate faction.
The "control large army" button limits each faction to 20 units. So if you are going up against 2 factions, or you have allies helping you, there will be more than 20 total. "Nuln and Wissenland" is one faction so turning off this option should have limited them.
It seems like you only had the one army so you didn't have the option to turn off large army? Can you share a screenshot of the pre-battle screen showing the armies involved?
Unless you modded it, there would never be more than 20 units per army faction if you uncheck the mark. Can you show more info?
I ticked the box for control large army to off and was confused once Elspeths whole army entered the battlefield
My armies not coming onto the battlefield should be more than enough proof that it was disabled
Could it be that i inflicted the army loss penalty to the first army which caused them to not count to „active“ units on the field? You can see a few of them rout I didn’t check if the units that still fought were unbreakable or not
You would still have to fight both armies, the only difference is that you wouldn't be 20v40, it'd be 20v20 until all 40 units of them were defeated.
So yes, I guess it's possible that suddenly shattering most of the first army at once would then result in a mass entrance of the remaining units.
Is there more than 20 *unrouted* enemy units ?
