they haven't re-created all the maps and let's be honest, there aren't that many and you won't see most of them anyways
I mean, who has time to head to southern Bretonnia and defeat carcasonne before the skaven take it and turn into a skaven siege battle
so yeah, get GCCM, you could have easily googled this broski
I did, I got 2000 people asking the same question and no actual answers just a load of fan boys telling the person they were wrong that WH3 maps are the best they've ever made.
Anyway... thanks I'll look into that.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Back in Rome TW, the Battle map exactly matched the campaign map where the battle took place 100%. Sure, there were glaringly NEGATIVE issues this feature caused on occasion. Most of the time however, it made for great game play. From the Campaign Map you could set your army on a hilltop and an attacking army would have to attack your army sitting on that very specific hilltop. The next turn, from the Campaign Map, move a little ways south to another hilltop that's in a wooded area next to a river, and again, attacking army would attack you up an entirely different hilltop located in the woods next to that river.
Who knows why CA abandoned this feature. I'm sure it probably involves a lot of hard work and probably runs into memory and performance issues. Still though, I'd NEVER believed you if you told me back in 2003 how small, how dismal and how boring the maps are in 2024. Only boring because you're forced to fight on the same maps in specific areas regardless of where you meet the enemy.
One would think that technology and knowledge has evolved enough in 2024 so we could have the terrain on the campaign map match the terrain on the battle map for every single battle, like we had in 2003, so that no two battles were alike. But alas, one can dream.
I 100% agree. I really dont like the WH3 maps. The WH2 maps were a lot better but even they were a little sparse in detail.
I cant help but feel that they are using AI to make them or they have sold the rights off to some 2 bit company that makes them in their dinner hour.
