Difficulty ? Also if i recall correctly the AI don't actually delete unit, that's why when you defeat one of his first army (with basic unit) he come back with the same lord but a updated army with better unit.

Wasn't that part of the new dlc? If you build the special "seal the defiled tomb" building, you get attacked by numerous spawned armies that belong to a generic faction.

Putting my money on this as well.
OP, did you build the landmark in the Silver Pinnacle without checking its effects?

Yeah im pretty sure this is the answer. Did a similar thing and build the landmark without reading and it spawned 3 endgame full stacks. Lucky for me I had a pretty good army and a less strong backup to defend while I send more backup over there.
Also they the stacks kept spawning until the landmark was build which takes 10-12 turns I think? So be ready before starting to build

Only sus thing about that stack is that they all are neatly rank7 nothing in the choice of units is sus for VC.. Tho it is what i'd call a strong start.

thats the thing, its a generic vampire faction army that, as the previous posters say, spawn when you build the special landmark.

guess thats an ungrim/dwarf's exclusive landmark? having taking ownership of that as karl franz in previous campaigns, never noticed such a thing before

You probably built the landmark, that causes a bunch of armies to spawn.

You shouldn't do that early, ever. To be fair, I was surprised by how strong the armies are the first time I built it too. You get swarmed by the best units Counts have, army after army.

Oh, someone commented this already. I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

Yes, it's Dwarf exclusive. I think building it even has a reward in the new Book of Grudges they got, but I don't remember what exactly.
ok yes i did this but why the ♥♥♥♥ is this even a thing right off the rip? i thought that landmark needed to be built or some ♥♥♥♥... so am i just ♥♥♥♥♥♥? if they take it back does this go away?
ok this is stupid, as long as i hold silver pinnacle, i have to deal with end game stacks of vampires. im all for hard campaigns but that is just beyond stupid. why is there no disclaimer here? I went back to a few turns where i didnt build the landmark yet and now as i look at the diplomacy after a turn or 2 they have rank 6 strength. This is lame af

Because you didn't read the tooltip of the building. A tooltip that clearly tells you:

"Ward and seal the tombs to purge the Hold of the Undead!" in green, to explain what you're doing. And
"Warning! the Undead will try everything in their power to stop the purging!" in red, to explain what other factions (in this case the undead) are going to do.

Until you've completed the purge, that is to say the full 10 turns it takes to "build" the landmark, the undead will attack you.
If they take the city it will stop the purge and they will no longer spawn armies to try and stop you (although I suspect you'll still be at war with them), at least until you go back in and try it again.

nah i just posted above i don't think it matters. that mechanic is beyond stupid. i razed it, they had like rank 3 strength, they reclaimed it in the turn and back to rank 1. pretty sure its just beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at this point unless i go back and don't declare war on them. How has nobody else complained about this? am i just suppose to sit in the mountains or inefficiently attack/defend against the chaos dwarves? who thought of this seriously
