ABOUT: BEING ABLE TO GENERATE NEW RANDOM WORLD MAPS
I have played for many hours, with many races, and there comes a time when the game can get boring.

I think the game could improve a lot, to an incredible extent, if it had a random map generator.

*I am a player for many decades of turn-based games, there is an incredible game (old) "Heroes of Might and Magic III, in its "complete" version, which has the option to generate new random maps, you can define the size, if it has caves or not, the number of human or PC players, possible alliances, strength of the monsters, amount of land and sea, and then defend or leave at random what type of castle or race each player is, etc...

SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN THE TOTAL WAR UNIVERSE WOULD BE SIMPLY AND DEFINITELY INCREDIBLE.

What do you think?

I'd agree, if it was semi competent.
Definitely more maps would be good.
Warhammer follows the lore it is based on so the map is pretty much set in stone as they can't just change where the settlements and factions are.

I know, possibly we all know, the map is the one from the Warhammer Fantasy miniatures collection, which is older than cough...

However, it would be possible, and feasible, to reconfigure the strategic map, for "new games", in which everything would be reconfigured depending on the size, difficulty chosen, mountains, roads, provinces and settlements would be generated randomly... I insist practically the same as in "HEREOS OF MIGHT AND MAGIC III (COMPLETE)"

Statistics show that players of this game leave it and do not play it once several campaigns have passed...

I have made my comment to the developers, I hope they attend to it

Well, the big issue with this idea is that it would completely destroy several game mechanics:
Imperial Authority, Wulfhart's Quests, the historical dwarfs holds, Alarielle's need to ensure Ulthuan is all in the hands of the Asur, Yuan Bo and his search for important sites in Lustria etc etc

Plus it would need to completely remove any landmark or things like imperial forts, elven gates and so forth

Varied maps/campaigns (covering different areas of the world with more detail, like the wood elf map from game 1) would be nice (just having the tools allowing moders to easily make new "campaigns" would be great).

Heck just alternative starting locations for the legendary lords on the map we have would do a lot for replayability.

I recommend the mod "Change starting settlement" for replayability (also useful in coop to spawn closer)

Randomized startin’ positions would be a nice option I fink, but I doubt GW would allow CA to do non-canon world maps.

What I fink we really need doh, is Hotseat Mode, dat would add so much replayability to le game. :sunglassesDoge:

Ubisoft is releasing new
HoMM 3 game called 'Olden Era'
Just learned that today )
About the question . Perhaps CA does have license only for Total War style game .
Would Black Library allow to release something like HoMM3 in their Warhammer Universe?

Coming from Ubisoft I have zero expectations.
Sad, HoMM is one of my favorite franchises, I love HoMM V, III is good as well.
VII could've been great, could, isn't. Ubisoft gives indie budgets and insane deadlines, they focus on profit at the cost of quality.

Random start locations is great fun

Yes, I thought about it, it would have to be a very good random map creation engine, which preserves the proportions and places of interest, in proportion to the races created, it could be a map of 50 races or 250, they would emerge in proportion, with corresponding places in proportion... or according to the player's selection.

In fact, this game mode would be an extra game mode, with unlimited and infinite seeds

A generator like the one in Age of Wonders III or IV, with an allatory map, creating unique places, adapting it to the races...

A question of programming it, in fact the "programming logic" should be similar to the AOW3 or 4, or the HOMM3 or +

then it wouldn't be a random map, if you keep the mechanics then the empire needs to remain as is, same with both Markus and Yuan Bo needing to be ins Lustria for their quests or how the key Dwarven settlemennts would still need to be present on the map.

And if you remove the mechanics then you are basically killing those races off.

What you are proposing is literally a new game, not a gamemode.

True. Obviously those unique events and unique conditioning; In short, everything would have to be adapted.

I insist, the programming logic of this should not be very different from AOW3 or 4, or HOMM3 or +

The current "old world" campaign mode would still exist, this is expanding and creating a new world every time you generate a "new world map"

Paradox Interactive works very well. Your map generator in Age Of Wonders is pretty decent

Playing the same game as AI with the same rules. Get rid of tedious sponge combat. It will never happen, like me buying another TW release
