Definitely more maps would be good.
I know, possibly we all know, the map is the one from the Warhammer Fantasy miniatures collection, which is older than cough...
However, it would be possible, and feasible, to reconfigure the strategic map, for "new games", in which everything would be reconfigured depending on the size, difficulty chosen, mountains, roads, provinces and settlements would be generated randomly... I insist practically the same as in "HEREOS OF MIGHT AND MAGIC III (COMPLETE)"
Statistics show that players of this game leave it and do not play it once several campaigns have passed...
I have made my comment to the developers, I hope they attend to it
Imperial Authority, Wulfhart's Quests, the historical dwarfs holds, Alarielle's need to ensure Ulthuan is all in the hands of the Asur, Yuan Bo and his search for important sites in Lustria etc etc
Plus it would need to completely remove any landmark or things like imperial forts, elven gates and so forth
Heck just alternative starting locations for the legendary lords on the map we have would do a lot for replayability.
What I fink we really need doh, is Hotseat Mode, dat would add so much replayability to le game.
HoMM 3 game called 'Olden Era'
Just learned that today )
About the question . Perhaps CA does have license only for Total War style game .
Would Black Library allow to release something like HoMM3 in their Warhammer Universe?
Coming from Ubisoft I have zero expectations.
Sad, HoMM is one of my favorite franchises, I love HoMM V, III is good as well.
VII could've been great, could, isn't. Ubisoft gives indie budgets and insane deadlines, they focus on profit at the cost of quality.
Yes, I thought about it, it would have to be a very good random map creation engine, which preserves the proportions and places of interest, in proportion to the races created, it could be a map of 50 races or 250, they would emerge in proportion, with corresponding places in proportion... or according to the player's selection.
In fact, this game mode would be an extra game mode, with unlimited and infinite seeds
A generator like the one in Age of Wonders III or IV, with an allatory map, creating unique places, adapting it to the races...
A question of programming it, in fact the "programming logic" should be similar to the AOW3 or 4, or the HOMM3 or +
then it wouldn't be a random map, if you keep the mechanics then the empire needs to remain as is, same with both Markus and Yuan Bo needing to be ins Lustria for their quests or how the key Dwarven settlemennts would still need to be present on the map.
And if you remove the mechanics then you are basically killing those races off.
What you are proposing is literally a new game, not a gamemode.
True. Obviously those unique events and unique conditioning; In short, everything would have to be adapted.
I insist, the programming logic of this should not be very different from AOW3 or 4, or HOMM3 or +
The current "old world" campaign mode would still exist, this is expanding and creating a new world every time you generate a "new world map"
Paradox Interactive works very well. Your map generator in Age Of Wonders is pretty decent
