Is this Game good for multiplayer?
Hey my friendgroup and I are searching for a new long time Strategy game we can play together. Normally we played CIV 6 and Crusader Kings 3 a lot but we are searching for something new. As we all are Warhammer fans and like the franchise a lot we are considering to buy the Total War Warhammer 3 Trilogy to play the game as our new multiplayer strategy title. We never played any Total War before!

Is this game fun in multiplayer? are there annoying multiplayer mechanics, such as having to wait 30 min for a players turn etc? Are there enough player to player and player to AI interactions? How much fun will make a 4-5 players match?

Mostly I see people talking about the singleplayer and most videos and Clips I see are from the SP too, so I am wondering if this game could be a new and good alternative for my friendgroup.

Ty for answering

A next question I would had: How difficutl is it to get into the game? Because I mainly plan to play the game with my friends, me and my friends probably too dont enjoy playing long tutorials for preperation. Is it easy to get into and learning by doing or is it more like with Paradox games where you almost need youtube videos that explain the game

Both coop and FFA are wonderful.

Pretty easy to learn. Recently brought in 3 people and none of them had much issue even with them all skipping the tutorial. The allied control of armies can reduce the scope they have to deal with right away which helps I think. Can depend on faction though. Dont go throwing skaven campaign mechanics or slaneesh battles at someone as a first campaign and it should be fine.

Edit: don't EVER let anyone use easy battle difficulty, preferably not normal either, really messes with auto resolve. There is an issue currently with battle difficulty sometimes changing when the campaign is loaded, annoying thing to keep an eye on.

First, multiplayer is great fun. But it's predicated on having the right group of friends.

You can play coop or competitively. In either case, you can have simultaneous turns; the AI will have consecutive turns but they will be very fast. The snag is in battles. In Total War games you 'zoom' into the battle arena and play out the battle in a tactical map. You can autoresolve it as an option, though, or even rule that everyone has to autoresolve always (or never). That works very well for 2-3 players, but 4-6 may be problematic.

Now, this is important: When you fight something other than a player, your other players can spectate and take control of the AI's units. Or you can give another player some of yours. It can be a good group activity. So it doesn't have to be a period where the other players can go have dinner, but.. it can be.

Now, for various questions..

1: It's easy to start playing. You've played civ and such; it's fairly relevant experience, even if it does have its own idiosyncracies.
2: Multiplayer campaigns are fun, absolutely.
3: Everyone can have different difficulty settings in case you have varying skill levels and want to give handicaps.
4: I *strongly* recommend playing on hard battle difficulty, it will make autoresolved battles closer to what you'd get as players playing them.
5: The campaign is a sandbox grand campaign, much like in civilization, with various stages of victory conditions or just 'last man standing wins'.

For an example of a head-to-head campaign you could check out some of Turin's:

It showcases the mechanics, at the very least.
