Is it possible to mix armies?
Like, to play as elves faction but have some chaos units (for example)?

If it requires a mods to do that, that's ok too with me.

You can recruit up to 4 allied units per army in vanilla.
Else mods.

If you can manage to make an ally out of another faction (with some being easier than others) you can indeed recruit a few of their units in your armies

What mods allow that?

No mods, Just ally a faction You can have up to a 5 different factions units in one army if you include your own faction.

As stated, alliances allow you to recruit some units. You basically just get the alliance, then build an outpost in one of their developed cities. Also some factions just have mechanics that let you get some. Tamarkhan, for example, has chieftans that allow you to recruit a limited amount of other faction units, though his are mostly chaos, as you'd expect. Thorek can get a carnosaur as dwarfs, wulfhart can get some other faction heroes, a dwarf engineer and a wood elf. Aranessa Saltspite can get sartosan free company and ogre maneaters. VC can get some human units, etc. Probably others I don't remember.

He's asking about the "Else mods" part.
Like, is there a mod that increases the allied recruitment limit from 4 to 19 per army etc.

Exactly. Thank you.
Or that makes it so that I don't have to be allies with someone, or whatever

That mod is a good one, probly your best bet. Don't think there's one that just adds all of another other factions units to w/e roster as far as I know. Gonna have to be allies at least :P

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2894824474&searchtext=allied+recruitment sounds like what you want, but that one doesn't appear to be updated for 5.1.

Plenty of mods decap it, but you still need to be allies, like this one

This one removes the need for a MA, reducing it to DA.

If you play a faction that can vassilize (Bel'akor for isntance) when you vassilize a faction. You can build outposts at their city. So playing as Chaos Warriors, you cna have high elves in your ranks as an example
