- It would address the problems people have with breaking their mods.
- It would address the problem that people could finish a campaign on a certain version, or just stick with a certain version, because they like the balance in it more.
- It would address the thing with buggy patches, and switch them to the stable branch when everything (or most of it) is fixed.
- It would make it so, that CA acts in line with other devs which do the same things - and have an active modding community.
It´s beyond me why CA never did it - and that people even have to mention it. I guess the server space costs some money, probably because their game isn´t made with different versions in mind, as they always have the whole package, and You only unlock stuff with a purchase - so they would need to upload the whole game a couple of times - to cover like the last 2 or 3 big patches as beta branch - plus any new patch, which would get moved to the stable branch after the problems are clear, as some people would use the newest beta anyways - to see how it works.
Also it´s not the worst patch. The worst i´ve seen was that "hotfix", which made it so that the game would always crash in a manual battle, when crumbling units were on the field. While of course some people would talk about verifying stuff, or even deny that this bug exists, or that it´s only a minor problem - like it is with every second bug...
And what dulany67 said.
I am very very happy that they are focusing on the game again after neglecting it for several years though.
Ideally, this is the end of the bare minimum era from CA and they implement tools and revamp or move away from the Warscape engine. I really don't think this is sustainable at this point. They probably have one more cycle of releases before everything collapses under the weight of technical debt.
They can clearly do it if they want to and things do seem to be turning around. Hopefully they've finished cleaning house and the incompetent managers are gone so they can get some real work going. Give them a chance, it will take at least a year after all the layoffs and restructuring to start seeing real results.
This a way to get more views? Why do i need to watch a video to see bugs? how about reporting them instead of this useless whine post? We all know CA doesn't respond to folks much, little alone some nonsense in a video to just point out what needs to be reported if hasn't been reported already.
There's nothing worse than being a troll who's cover has been blown
Raging and grieving in-and-about each of these "troll" threads doesn't look particularly constructive either to be honest.
How do you even remotely come close to the conclusion that whatever SBA wrote is "raging" and "grieving" is beyond me.
I am honestly curious how you come to the conclusion that what SBA wrote is "raging".
When I see a video that's 10 minutes and less then 11 minutes, I know that 90% of it's time is filled with hot air and is not worth the watch.
If you have something to say, say it, I can respect someone voicing their own opinion even if I disagree with it. But linking some streamer desperate for clicks (they all are) just tells me you can't (or won't) form your own opinion, so you just parrot someone else's.
Multiplayer balancing and lousy modes and maps that can't be used in IE or scenario campaign.
In the same time it brought more problems than fixes for IE which is the bread winner.
I just hope that the video with what's to come that they made for Khorne DLC-Norsca reworks etc, which I applaud CA for, will be some drastical surgeon scalpel in bugs still haunting the game after 2,5 years and not smoke and mirrors.
