Next they will complain about having to actually click on it in their Steam library to run the game instead of thinking it and it just magically happens.
It doesn't for most people. This is a you problem
Try not having the game installed on a 5200 RPM HDD from 10 years ago
and no, this isn't people finding anything to complain about. It's as if the game occupies 240gb on your SSD, at least when a major patch is imminent. It's ridiculous that it still works that way. Every time a patch is about to hit, I need to go uninstalling stuff that I would rather not uninstall, just to open free space for a patch install to work properly. At least hotfixes don't seem to have the same problem, which would be a real nightmare now that they are frequent.
Come back in a few months and hope the issue was fixed is a horrible solution especially in a game that's still getting dlc on a few months basis. Try being a Bethesda fan where Bethesda breaks their game and mods once a year for stuff no one asked for or wanted in some 10+ year old game that should have stopped being updated about half as long ago.
And I hear the new Assassins Creed game is going to be what 300 odd Gb? Its just getting ridiculous now trying to game. Tech cant keep up with the publishers they are just creating games that are not playable for the majority of people.
I hate to think how long it would take me to download a 300gb game - 3 or 4 days I reckon. Because guess what I like to play games in my free time, not just download them. Games are just getting too big and taking too much time with the downloads.
And this game is another game that I might well be uninstalling in the near future just for this reason. I dont play all my games I have about 130 and if I dont play them often like this one they will get uninstalled just to prevent the constant downloads.
Publishers need to start thinking sensibly and not creating massive games that are half hearted and need constant downloads to fix. I know Ubisoft are one of the worse publishers for this that is why they are on my black list. I dont buy any Ubisoft games.
