Apparently Steam or CA made it to where we can't play WH3 offline
Latest Steam update(not WH3 update) ensures we can't play WH3 offline mode, which was allowing players to access the campaigns we've been enjoying for weeks. Campaigns that become broken because the game update this week that breaks a lot of our great mods.

I was playing Offline fine until today. There was a Steam Client update, which I had to hop online for. After the update, I get some pop up message when using the WH3 Launcher. A message about needing to be Online and updating my game. That or it says "Downloading Workshop 0%" and just sits there idle forever.

Why am I receiving different messages? The Denuvo message or "Downloading Workshop 0%"?

What's the point of OFFLINE mode if I'm forced to get back online? Yes I know to be online to sign in to Steam and verify my account as well as update Steam Client. I have done that daily.

Why is it saying "Downloading Workshop 0%" in OFFLINE mode?

You don't need to update the game. You just have to be online when starting the game so Denuvo can verify that your ownership on Steam. This process has to be done either after a certain time passed or after the game got an update.

I might be wrong but i think the steam updates also can trigger the same thing as well.

Right. So when I was doing the same exact thing 2 days ago, the game would launch in offline mode. I get the mod selection launcher, and launch from there.

Now I either get that Denuvo message, or it says "Downloading Workshop 0%" when I try to launch Warhammer III Total War in OFFLINE mode.

Why exactly is it saying "Downloading Workshop 0%" in OFFLINE MODE?

Steam is up to date. I just updated today. It's probably what broke my ability to access my campaigns in offline mode. I could even do the same for Warhammer II.

Now I get the Denuvo message for BOTH WH2 and WH3 when trying to launch offline mode. That's AFTER I launch Steam ONLINE or OFFLINE. Same result. Except with WH3 it sometimes says "Downloading Workshop 0%" in OFFLINE MODE. WTF?

Why wasn't I getting that Denuvo message a few days ago when I could launch the game OFFLINE and play? Why is it saying "Downloading Workshop 0%" when I try to launch the game in OFFLINE mode?

So after spending half the night going between Online and Offline modes, restarting Steam a couple dozen or so times, Clearing the Cache in my Downloads settings numerous times, and after about the 30th or so attempt to launch WH3 Offline, the game launched while in Offline mode and I can access my campaigns.

I don't know why or how I bypassed the Denuvo message. I don't know why or how I'm not getting the endless "Downloading Workshop 0%" message after launching the game OFFLINE. I just know that there's blood to be spilt. And, as we all know, Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows, only that it flows in HIS name. Or perhaps it was Tzeentch had a hand in all this?

That's because going online made steam know the game has an update available and unless you're opted into a beta version (or a rollback version) steam doesn't let you launch a game with a pending update.
