If We Are Indeed Getting a Norsca Rework Again...
Oddly enough, I just finished up a Norsca campaign in IE, so I have a few key suggestions to *finally* make Norsca feel like they are completely finished. It's been quite a journey from the long wait to get them in TW:WH1, only to have them be a mess, to have them be semi-fixed up. So here are a couple of last things I'd like to see fixed:

#1 - It would do wonders to have the ability to get walls in at least one or two spots in the Norsca homelands. The biggest source of anxiety when playing as Norsca is that you will lose your recruitment buildings in a sudden attack out of the blue. Being able to wall up and lock up at least the province capitals in Norsca homelands would be helpful. Or, alternatively, let Norsca have a hybrid system where the LL has horde buildings that travel with them (like the ships for Vampire Coast LLs). Again, my biggest worry as Norsca is that I have to travel out to raid and sack, yet have to keep a stack behind to protect my few cities that have high-level recruitment buildings.

#2 - The 4 dedications system is bad. For one, razing to get the points means foregoing either occupying the settlement or sacking it for cash; please, please allow for at least getting a reasonable amount of cash even when razing. And secondly, the dedications themselves are still underwhelming... they need to scale a bit more, because if I get 100 points for the Serpent and max it out, it's still just a 10% reduction on army maintenance. At 100 points, have it jump to at least 15% for crying out loud. The dedications need balance yet.

#3 - Monster hunts also need a bit of balancing. They were a good addition, but are not totally balanced even now.

#4 - For the roster, Marauders are still weak as all get out. Maybe allow more ability to customize them via upgrades (like the Greenskin re-work a ways back allowed us to do with scrap), or give a few more specialized Norsca-only variants of them. And also consider allowing some sort of dedicated artillery... right now, it's incredibly odd to have a Chaos arty unit as a RoR but have no other artillery available.

#5 - Lastly, confederating should be an absolute, always-on feature. If I fight and take out the leader of a Norsca tribe that is a vassal to, say, Archaeon, well, I still should be able to confederate that tribe. This would allow me to slowly pull apart the big vassal-packs that inevitably form up, and would add incentive to risk being more aggressive as Norsca.

Overall - I'm not sure a larger re-work is what is needed. To me at least, it's more about balancing, some QoL stuff, and maybe adding slightly to the roster. Norsca is way better than it had been when they first appeared... so at this point, I think it's just touching up what is already there for the most part.

Uhm...You do understand that they say end of year for this DLC, so a norsca dlc is what, 2 years from now at best?

I would also add that the warband upgrade system CoC has should be a part of the Norsca system; the idea of Norscans fighting, champions emerging, etc...aren't norscans the recruiting base for mortal chaos followers that roam the wastes?

If we really wanted to fantasize, remove the ability to take non-coasstal settlements again, but add in a modified ogre camp system or the pirate ship system to make migrating raiders actually migrate; these guys aren't there to farm in northern UK, they're there to burn cities and take selfies.

That wasn't the impression I got, though... it sounded more like it was going to be a free re-work (not necessarily a DLC). I'll go back and re-watch it... I was semi-distracted admittedly while watching the first time, so maybe I missed something. I'll re-watch and check the most recent road-map.

I had a few of the same thoughts. Yeah, the CoC system where marauders rise through the ranks might not be a bad idea.

And yes, turning Norsca to a hybrid system of some sort, where the LL has horde buildings that travel with them, would be a good addition.

I shall implement all of your ideas, because I am the Lead Developer at CA.

Happy?

Who are you talking to?

That was my impression that norsca rework would come with a patch rather than a DLC.
