Haven't played them sinc TWW1 but will do a another campaign soon. I had a lot of fun back then, end now they got even more units and mechanics.

But mybe you could elaborate: What exaclty bores you? The campaign? The battles? the roster? The starting postition?

I doubt you'll find them suddenly appealing by getting someone else explanation as for "why" they find it great to play.

Some races are just not for everyone.

Example, I have no interest in Lizardmen, or Ogres as I find them either boring, or just badly implemented.

I suggest you look on YouTube for lore videos about them, it will definitely motivate you.

if i could make a recommendation, lean into the vassalizing system the faction has, it not only gives you powerful progression but also lets you adjust your armies to include more diverse units from your vassals. Further tbh, VC is a dividing faction, its one you either love or you dont. it encourages a strong focus on heroe oriented military, since you need a significant amount of agent actions to build blood kisses, and hyper aggro expansion strategy for your campaign which can feel a bit exhausting at times, top that with a pure melee roster that focuses on splitting enemies into pockets of forces while using heroes to circle charge them, and its easy to see why theyd be hard to enjoy for some.

Further i recommend not playing helman ghorst or mannfred if you want to have fun, like they arent bad, to the contrary they are very strong, but they are also...really boring early game, like absurdly so. Personally Id recommend trying the Carstein´s if you want to have fun both early and late game as the two provide a more well rounded campaign experience in my opinion

Vampires counts are fun once you get how to make them good.
Isabella is the best leader imo, her bonus for vampire heroes and hero cap bonus is crazy, allowing you to get multiple of them on the first turns.

Always get some bloodline lord of the carstein family, they get a unique skill which make bats free of upkeep in their armies, allowing you to reinforce or expands way quicker.

The biggest hurdle i face playing vampires is how everybody else despises you, so be prepared to be declared a war more often.

The fun of Vampire Counts is the characters and having armies of disposable chaff. Watching enemies tire themselves fighting a horde of undead and then dropping wind of death on them or rear charging with blood knights. You have to enjoy the theme and while I find them okay I prefer Tomb Kings when I want to play undead.

Personally i find them kinda boring, the whole win the fight on casting the same spell 2-3 times is very meh, It's all about the characters.

They can be pretty fun to play, specially with their raise dead from big battles that have been on the campaign map but i would rather play Vampire coast because they have so much ranged options it's more fun also would prefer Tomb kings for all the big constructs and free troops.

I suggest going with one of the cacklemasters, Kemmler or Ghorst, tho Ghorst is hilarious and you can roll over the map with nothing but Zombies.

Ghorst is just ridin dirty with his meatwagon, having a good ole time

Ghorst is disgustingly OP, but the whole zombie blob + hero armies gets tiresome after 20 turns or so. Also you've got to manually fight like all of your battles because the autoresolve underestimates your uber zombies. Some people find it fun but it's just not for me.

I guess, I just found it hilarious. Mannfred is the worst tho, horrible location. In the middle of the desert, surrounded by factions that hate you, ugh.

Ghorst issue is that when your zombies are powerful you need to manually fight every single battle by yourself because auto resolves are not in favor of the zombies.

This is a good video showing some of the problems.

So if someone isn't fond of Vampires melee only units, going with zombies is not gonna make it more fun. It's just a waiting game.

I find him fun tho. Difficult start and a ton of strong landmarks that buff your faction and extra books to hunt down

I had the same problem, to date the only time I've played past early- mid game with them was with the champions of undeath mod.it had enough going on that it held my interest. If you are not averse to mods it might be worth a look.
