It was definitely the hiboxes/ movest.
Before this very patch, when the first released it, i tested the Frostwyrm against all types of units, and it basically lost to everything i put it up against. Even Clan Rats!
But whenver i could line it up against a cluster of infantry it it basically routed the entire unit due to the Charge Bonus damage being huge, but the issue was that the Charge Bonus wasn't that great on the unit card to begin with.
It didn't add up, so it was definitely some hitbox/moveset issue.
Now it's much MUCH more functional and works as a large size predator that while fast it can't catch up to the fastest units, so it can apply frostbite to further slow the prey down.
I encourage you to try them!
After a bit of testing, like many monsters, they work betters if they attack the enemy while they are engaged in combat with infantry. Many monsters end up suffering a lot of damage and lose morale quickly.
Oddly, they seem to do well 1v1 against Cigors, Great Unclean Ones, Toad Dragons.
The latter of which they seem to either win or score a tie with.
Can only assume in Campaign they'll perform even better.
Honestly? That would be quite amazing to see! Hope CA takes notes for this!
If he truly is to be THAT big, then for sure it should have a much larger HP pool, maybe some physical resistance to go along with it, as it would act as a pseudo-dread saurian but for Kislev.
Also, really Ostankya fed girls to the Frostwyrm? Is she that cruel?
Well, yeah, the thing of Kislev is that they are quite flexible.
and i do know of Kislevite Warriors and Ice Guards with Glaives, but having a proper anti-large mobile monster just adds an extra layer of utility!
Also, believe me, the strategy of "just shoot everything down before they get to you" backfires majorly when the enemy brings multiple large entities and suddendly you have too much collective health and armor to chew through before they reach your frontline.
It's an anti-large monster that gets unlocked way early as opposed to War-bear riders, it's much more resistant than the snow leopard in sustained combat and doesn't get routed in two hits, not to mention it can be used to hunt down exposed targets or squishier caster with more charge and damage.
Snow Leopard is frail as HECK and It's MEANT to replace the Snow Leopard, it has much more uses than you could imagine, it's nowhere near as redundant as you make it out to be!
it's like saying that adding the 'Things in the Woods' is useless because Kislev already has 'Winged Lancers' and 'Grypphon Legion' as fast anti-infantry option, as if the 'Things in the Woods' aren't able to SHRED through infantry like paper and last longer!
Should we get rid of Nuln's Ironsides because we already had Handgunners? When in actuality Nuln's Ironsides can hold the line for longer if they get caught in melee and even WIN against low tier infantry?
TL:DR : give it a shot, it has more uses than you think ; it's an higher tier monster meant to replace the Snow Leopard.
Still has 75 base speed and 3500 mass, right?
You take that back.
It's the best kitty.
